Enhanced FINE technology
Canon’s evolution of FINE technology continues, with all three models capable of producing photo prints of up to 4800x1200dpi at highly competitive speeds. With the MX700, MX300 and MX310, 10x15cm borderless photos are delivered in 46 seconds. The FINE print head employs Micro-Nozzles to dispense droplets as small as 2pl, resulting in photos with professional levels of gradation and clarity. Canon’s ChromaLife100 system ensures print longevity of up to 100 years when photos are stored in an album .
In addition, the MX700 uses Canon’s Single Ink system. Designed to be more economical, it allows users to replace ink tanks on an individual basis. A system of LEDs alerts users to low or empty tanks – making it easy to monitor ink levels in standalone mode.
Improved copying technology
The MX700, MX300 and MX310 feature Canon’s Dual Colour Gamut Processing Technology, which has been improved for even more faithful reproduction of colours in photocopied documents. The system uses two separate forms of colour rendering to reproduce tones that meet accurately with human perception – ensuring both enhanced colour reproduction and superior text legibility in first and second generation copies. The MX300 and MX310 can produce up to 22 cpm in mono mode or 17 cpm in colour, while the MX700 offers figures of 30 cpm and 20 cpm respectively.
The MX310 and MX700 both feature high-speed Auto Document Feeders (ADFs) for large fax, copy and scan jobs. Dual paper trays on the MX700 add extra capacity for printing and copying.
Faxing and connectivity
Each model includes high-speed Super G3 fax capabilities. Used either as a standalone fax or in conjunction with a PC and fax modem, they are capable of transmitting mono or colour documents at a rate of 33.6kbps. For further ease of use, users can program a list of coded speed dials – up to 20 on the MX300 and MX310 and 40 on the MX700.
The MX700 includes built-in Ethernet (wired LAN) connectivity to support larger home offices, allowing multiple users to share printing and scanning over a local network.
Auto Image Fix
All three models feature Canon’s new Auto Image Fix function, which automatically identifies and correct flaws in users’ photos before printing. Accessed via the supplied MP Navigator EX and Easy-PhotoPrint software, it uses Face Detection and Scene Analysis technology to optimise certain key areas in a photo: colour fogging and exposure, face tone and brightness, and scene-based tone, contrast and saturation. The MX700 also features integrated Auto Image Fix software, for use when printing direct from memory card.
Direct Printing
PictBridge support means that each model can be easily used as a standalone printer with any compatible digital camera. The MX700 also features a memory card slot - used with the integrated 4.5cm (1.8 inch) colour LCD, it allows direct printing from most popular card formats.
