United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland , 12 February 2014 – Canon today adds to its PowerShot range with two new compact cameras – the rugged and waterproof PowerShot D30, and the PowerShot S200, an addition to the acclaimed PowerShot S-series line. Designed for adventure, the PowerShot D30 is ideal for daring adrenaline seekers – capable of shooting underwater action at unrivalled depths as low as 25m¹ – with superior image quality, giving striking natural colours even in low-light conditions. The PowerShot S200 is true to the PowerShot S-series’ heritage, delivering stunning image quality and easy access to manual settings in a modern, pocketable design – with a host of creative features for those seeking their next step in photography.

Stunning results with Canon image quality
At the heart of both cameras lies Canon’s HS System, a strong core which combines a high-sensitivity sensor and DIGIC image processor for high-quality performance, providing excellent images in low-light situations. The PowerShot D30 utilises a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS sensor and a 28mm wide-angle, 5x zoom Canon lens, helping you capture the beauty of the sea in amazing detail. The PowerShot S200’s ultra-wide angle bright f/2.0 lens, combined with a higher sensitivity 10.1 Megapixel CCD sensor, provides great flexibility to capture creatively in challenging situations.

Both cameras use an optical Image Stabilizer to deliver crisp and clear shots and include Intelligent IS technology to automatically apply the most suitable form of stabilisation for a range of scenes and settings.

Ready for your next adventure: PowerShot D30
Built to brave the depths, the rugged PowerShot D30 is the world’s deepest waterproof compact camera², delivering Canon image quality at depths as low as 25 metres. Always ready for adventure, it’s shockproof for drops of up to 2.0m, freeze proof to -10 °C and dustproof – making it equally ideal for a snow trek, rock-climbing, or underwater explorations. Movies of unmissable moments
Both the PowerShot D30 and PowerShot S200 feature a dedicated Movie Record button – perfect for when you’re completely absorbed in the moment and you don’t want to miss anything.  Highly effective image stabilisation provided by Intelligent IS in movie recording lets you capture high octane action of your adventures with sharper and steadier footage – ideal for mountain biking or skiing.

Creative control at your fingertips

Experiment with your photos and establish your own style with the ISO range adjustment via the PowerShot S-series’ iconic Lens Control Ring, while Full Manual control lets you capture your own unique images in practically any situation.

Even when you’re in the middle of the action, you can frame the scene perfectly with the cameras’ rear display.
