Diddipix Calendar Competition

Diddipix has partnered with independent family-run supermarket Dike & Son to launch a calendar competition for photography-loving kids. Created by Stalbridge-based teacher, photographer and children-writer Kirsten Harvey, Diddipix is a new photography website aimed at 6-16-year-olds. To enter the calendar competition all the children need to do is to sign up to diddipix.com and click onto the ‘Dike’s Calendar FREE membership option’. This will entitle them to a whole summer of photography fun and they will be given their own online gallery where they can upload up to 45 of their best photos completely free of charge. They can change them around and upload new ones as many times as they like through the holidays, ready for the final judging which will take place on Friday 13th September. The winning 12 photos will be printed in colour for the Dikes 2014 Calendar. The children will also receive a free annual subscription to the Diddipix site plus a winner’s certificate. The overall winner will also receive a bag of goodies from Dike’s worth £25 and their photo will appear on the cover of the calendar.

The theme is Rural Life. There are so many things to take photos of in rural Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire; the children will be spoilt for choice. It could be photos taken at a festival, at the beach, on a farm, at a picnic, by a river, at your favourite attraction, on a boat, on a steam train, eating ice cream or strawberries, watching cricket, riding a horse or simply in the garden. In fact anything to do with living in the countryside!
The photos can be taken on a camera, camera phone or tablet. They can be funny or serious, close up details or wide scenes, angled or straight, single shots or as a collage, abstract or manipulated on the computer or iPad. Just have fun and be creative.
Details of how to enter can be found on both the Dike & Son and Diddipix website.
The website is safe and secure; there are no chat rooms and all information is data protected and private. Kirsten holds all relevant CRB certificates, professional teaching and photographic qualifications and is registered with CEOP.
