Epson Irish Youth Photography Awards

EpsonEpson is sponsoring a new youth photography competition in conjunction with the Irish Photographic Federation. The first Epson Youth Photography Awards are open to all schools and third level institutions throughout Ireland. Daniel Rafferty, Epson Ireland, commented, ‘We are delighted to expand our collaboration with the Irish Photographic Federation. It is very exciting to be involved at the grass roots level of emerging Irish photographic talent and we believe this will prove to be another very successful partnership between Epson and the IPF.’ The school or college with the best portfolio of images will win an Epson Stylus Photo R2400 A3+ eight colour printer and six individual winners will receive an Epson Stylus Photo R360 A4 six colour printer. Closing date for entries is 1st February 2008.

Epson® launches the first Epson Irish Youth Photography Awards

22nd November 2007 - Epson, one of the worlds leading printer manufacturers announced today that it is to sponsor a youth photography competition in conjunction with the Irish Photographic Federation (IPF). The first Epson Youth Photography Awards are open to all schools and third level institutions throughout Ireland. The winners and their schools and colleges will be honoured at an Awards Ceremony in Dublin during February 2008 where the winning entries will be on display. 

This is not the first time that Epson has worked alongside the Irish Photographic Federation to encourage and promote photography in Ireland. Epson has been the title sponsor of the Epson National Photographic League since 2005.

This event would not be possible without the sponsorship of Epson and I extend warm thanks to them for their help with this event.’

Epson will award the school or college with the best portfolio of images an Epson Stylus Photo R2400 A3+ eight colour printer and six individual winners will receive an Epson Stylus Photo R360 A4 six colour printer. An IPF Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal will also be presented to the winner in each section.

Photography in Ireland goes back over 160 years with the 2nd Club in the world being formed in Dublin when photography was in its infancy. The IPF continues to carry on the tradition and is growing on annual basis.  It now has 60 active clubs in the Republic
All second and third level schools and colleges in the Republic of Ireland are eligible to enter the competition. The competition is run in two sections – under 16 and under 21
An application form has been issued to all secondary schools and third level colleges in Ireland. Rules, requirements and an application form are also available on the IPF website http://www.irishphoto.ie/
