Getty Images Announce First Female Sports Photographer Internship

Getty Images are now taking applications for a newly created female sports photographer internship. Offered in partnership with Women’s Sport Trust, Cerno Capital and Canon, the internship will be a paid position in Getty Images’ London office and will run for one year from July 2017. During this time the photographer will learn all angles of the sports photography business by shadowing the picture desk, assignments team and field editors and honing her photography skills at sporting events. Applicants are asked to submit a CV and cover letter alongside a portfolio of their 15 best images.

Getty Images taking applications for its first ever female sports photographer internship

Applications are open to all aspiring female sports photographers until 31st March 2017

London, 1st February 2017: Getty Images, a world leader in visual communications has announced it is taking applications for a newly created female sports photographer internship, which will see the successful applicant working alongside and learning from the world’s leading sports photographers and editorial team.

The internship, which is offered in partnership with Women’s Sport Trust, Cerno Capital and Canon, will be a paid position in Getty Images’ London office and will run for one year from July 2017.  During this time the photographer will learn all angles of the sports photography business by shadowing the picture desk, assignments team and field editors and honing her photography skills at sporting events.

The internship follows the announcement of a broader partnership with Women’s Sport Trust which aims to increase the visibility of female athletes and women’s sports, whilst also challenging the way in which female athletes are portrayed in imagery.
