HP Launches Initiative with Adobe and Apple for creative professionals at Adobe Live 2005
LONDON, May 27, 2005 - HP today announced a joint initiative together with Adobe and Apple to facilitate and improve the printing experience for photographers and creative professionals. The announcement was made at Adobe Live 2005 at the Business Design Centre in London.
The three companies have implemented new technologies that enable the coordination between applications, operating systems and printer drivers to facilitate the configuration of colour management for printing. When Mac OS X v10.4 ‘Tiger’ customers use Adobe PhotoShop 9 Suite2 with supported HP printers and new HP v3.x drivers with ICC profiles, colour management options that would produce incorrect results cannot be selected. Screen to output matching is optimised and customers save time and expense by producing the prints they want as opposed to the typical trial and error process.
HP will also be showcasing their latest line-up of digital imaging products and partnerships. HP intends to reinforce it’s commitment to offer complete imaging solutions across a range of operating platforms and to all branches of the photography and graphics community.
HP will use a wide selection of graphic arts solutions; from image capture through to edit and print, in order to illustrate its market-leading portfolio. New photographic printers on display include:
• HP Photosmart 8750 Professional Photo Printer - HP’s first 9-ink printer features HP’s new Vivera Inks and prints up to A3+ size. With features including built-in networking, wireless access and advanced colour management options the printer is ideal for professional photographers. The HP Photosmart 8750 Professional Photo Printer is available from May 2005 with a recommended retail price of £399 (actual prices may vary).
• HP DesignJet 90 - A large format inkjet printer for graphics professionals and professional photographers. The HP Designjet 90 is ideal for professionals who require sophisticated printing capabilities and advanced colour technologies to produce exceptional, fade resistant1 photo quality images. The HP Designjet 90 is available from June 2005 with a recommended retail price of £765 (actual prices may vary).
These printers will be supported by the new HP Vivera light-fast supplies system - Vivera inks are optimised to work together with HP papers and hardware to provide vibrancy of colour and faithful image replication. The new ink system reinforces HP’s dedication to ongoing technological innovation in their supplies offering and this system has been independently certified to provide outstanding, long-lasting, fade-resistant colour.
Mark Ellis, HP LFP Business Manager UK &I comments; “HP is excited to be here today to reinforce our commitment to graphics industry partners and demonstrate our cross-platform product portfolio. Make time to visit us at Adobe Live 2005 to understand what HP can bring to your business.”
