Kodak commits to the future of professional paper with Improved Kodak Professional Ultra Endura Paper

London, August 2006 – Kodak underscores its commitment to the future of professional paper with the recent introduction of a new, upgraded Kodak Ultra Endura Paper, designed to increase efficiency and bolster quality for professional labs and their customers. Through Kodak’s ongoing research and development of Professional Imaging media and its commitment to the Silver Halide platform, Kodak Ultra Endura Paper has been updated to show richer, more realistic colours across the spectrum while maintaining its outstanding longevity.

The upgraded Ultra Endura Paper is the colour negative paper within the ENDURA family that was built to meet the needs of the commercial markets, e.g. displays on fairs and exhibitions, POS advertising displays or art photography.  It delivers great visual reproduction, especially good colour saturation and remarkably accurate colour reproduction. Additionally, the DMin has been moved to a bluer position and highlights are consistent with customer preference.  Labs will benefit from a more robust product that has wider calibration and exposure latitude and more consistent results.

Research shows an emerging trend; in the professional segment, more than 75% of the silver halide paper consumed in developed markets is used to print digital images via digital printers.

Uwe Keller, Product Manager ProLab Products Film & Photofinishing Group EAMER comments: “With the growth in digital printing, there are clearly signs that the market for silver halide paper may be stabilizing as the rate of decline is moderating, which is great news.  Kodak is committed to the future of silver halide paper and will continue to invest in innovations such as Endura, in order to raise the bar for performance and to deliver value to end users - both consumers and professionals - well into the future.”

The award-winning family of Kodak Professional Endura Media is a benchmark for print-life longevity in the paper industry.  The range delivers unmatched image stability and robust processing characteristics for greater print consistency.  Other products within the Endura family include Portra Endura, Supra Endura, Endura Metallic and Endura Transparency and Clear.

Kodak Ultra Endura Paper is now available in Europe, the U.S., Latin America and Asia.
