MiMedia & DiJiFi Partner to Make Photographs and Videos Last Forever… Really

Port Chester, NY (March 21, 2011)—Digitizing old photos and videos is one way to protect memories—until your hard drive crashes, laptop is stolen or CD breaks. Bringing the best of photo scanning and video transfer to online backup and access, MiMedia and DiJiFi have partnered to take media from analog to digital to the cloud.

“While media is overwhelmingly digital in this day and age, the average person still has piles and piles of old photos and VHS tapes that can be destroyed in a flash,” said Erik Zamkoff, CEO, MiMedia. “By partnering with a trusted digitization service such as DiJiFi, MiMedia aims to transform the daunting task of archiving photos and videos into a quick painless process.”

Beginning today, customers who enlist DiJiFi to scan photos and transfer videos will have the option to automatically pre-populate a MiMedia account. Following a 60 day free trial, they will receive a 30 percent discount. An annual subscription for 100GB of data will be $70, versus the $120 retail value.

MiMedia offers consumers secure storage and universal access to all of their files, including music, pictures and video. Where back-up services offer limited access and sharing portals lack security, MiMedia combines both. The company leverages geo-redundant back-up, a web-based interface for in-browser access, sharing capabilities and a patent-pending Shuttle Drive — a plug and play USB hard drive that drastically reduces the initial upload time.

Founded in 2007 in a one-bedroom apartment in New York, DiJiFi is a digitalization service focused on the consumer market, but with the capabilities to handle major archives. The company recently digitized the entire photographic history of the United Nations, and handles nationwide orders via shipping and local requests via pick-up and delivery.

“As two companies that truly understand the value of digital media to consumers, MiMedia and DiJiFi make a natural pair,” said Jesse Crowder, Owner, DiJiFi. “Where our expertise is in the transfer from older analog to improved digital format, MiMedia is the frontrunner in providing backup of and access to digital media.”
