Presented by The Annenberg Space for Photography, Digital Darkroom is a group show featuring the work of 17 artists from the US, France and the UK. The exhibition, which opens to the public in Los Angeles on 17th December and runs through 30th May, explores the intersection of art and technology. The artists’ work presents altered realities using photography and digital or darkroom manipulation. The exhibition also includes a 3D film shot in 5K resolution using RED EPIC cameras, presented in a specially created screening room. This film includes interviews with 3D experts and historians Ray Zone and David Kuntz, 3D artists Ted Grudowski and Christopher Schneberger, and explores how 3D artists Claudia Kunin and Mike Pucher, photograph their subjects and alter them digitally to create 3D results. Key elements of the history of stereoscopic photography are also in the film. The Annenberg Space for Photography is located at 2000 Avenue of the Stars, Century City, California.

Olympus’ stock tumbled 20% today after a 29% fall on Tuesday, in the wake of the company’s admission that it had paid over $1 billion to “advisors” to hide losses on securities investments over the course of the past 20 years. A report by Reuters has called the affair “the biggest corporate scandal to hit Japan since a series of scandals at brokerages in the 1990s”. Olympus’ largest shareholders are now worried that the 92-year-old company could be delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The crisis broke out in October when the board of directors dismissed Chief Executive Officer Michael C. Woodford after he had commissioned an investigation into what seemed like “unusual payments” linked to a series of acquisitions made before his appointment. Since then, the company has lost more than 75 percent of its market value.

Lavazza recently launched the 2012 edition of their acclaimed calendar and Photography Blog was there to celebrate with them. Amidst the glitz and glamour we had to endure talking to one of the most beautiful women in the world and discovered a young girl that's done so much in the five years she's been modelling. Despite some models getting a reputation for being divas, Valerie Van Der Graaf is down to earth, modest and thankful for every opportunity she's had.

We recently spent an afternoon shooting with the new Panasonic GX1 compact system camera ahead of today's launch. There are 69 sample JPEG photos and a Full HD 1080i movie. We used three lenses with the GX1 - the 14-42mm X kit lens, 25mm F1.4 prime and the 45-175mm X telephoto zoom. Please note that these samples were taken with a pre-production version of the GX1 and may not be indicative of the final shipping camera. There's also an ISO sequence from 100 to 12800 so that you can see exactly what the 16 megapixel sensor is capable of.
