Reader’s Digest readers have voted Canon the most trusted camera brand in Europe for 2008, as part of the magazines prestigious, annual Trusted Brands Survey.

The Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands survey has been running for eight years and is one of the biggest and widest ranging consumer surveys in Europe.

Respondents were selected from Reader’s Digest customer database of 4.5 million homes over 16 European countries.

Research was conducted locally in 16 European countries, where 20 product groups were common to every country and left open ended allowing local and global brands to have an equal chance of being selected.

The UK online survey took place from November to December last year and over 23,000 questionnaires were analysed across all countries.

The main purpose of the survey is to identify which brands European’s trust the most in a range of consumer product categories and to investigate what trust means in terms of brand choice.
