SAMSUNG ADDS 1350Ti TO ITS POPULAR MAXIMA LINE OF 35MM POINT-AND-SHOOT CAMERAS

SECAUCUS, N.J., (February 12, 2004) - Samsung Camera today announced the launch of its new Maxima 1350Ti fully automatic 35mm point-and-shoot camera. The new camera features a 38-135mm Samsung SHD (Super High Definition) lens with aspherical elements for extra sharpness and a built-in flash with a maximum range of 37.7 ft with ISO 400 film. The camera covers a wide range of focal lengths and works perfectly for shooting any subject—indoors or out.  The built in Quartz Date feature offers advanced imprinting capabilities, allowing the user to record the date and time of every photo right on the negative.  With an approximate street price of $99.99, the Samsung Maxima 1350Ti camera combines affordability and ease-of-use with outstanding image quality.

“Despite the tremendous growth of digital photography, many consumers still want the familiarity and convenience of a 35mm, point and shoot camera,” said Ken Gerb, Senior Vice President, Sales for Samsung Camera. “Samsung has long been a leader in providing top quality, affordable products for those consumers, and will continue to do so as long as the demand exists.”

In addition to its user-friendly design and affordable price point, the Maxima 1350Ti offers a wide range of features and capabilities that enable anyone to shoot like a pro.  Standard features include four different shooting modes: Continuous Shooting for capturing rapid-fire sports action like the pros; Portrait Zoom which maintains a constant subject size within the frame?without re-zooming; Infinity Shooting for capturing Grand Canyon-like vistas; and Bulb Shooting, which keeps the shutter open until you click it again, allowing for extreme low light subjects such as cityscapes at night and holiday lighting events.

The 1350Ti is the perfect camera for a sportsman to tuck into a backpack or a grandparent to take to a little league game and is extremely user-friendly, offering automatic loading, film advance and rewinding. Want to change to black-and-white film before the current roll is finished—the Maxima 1350Ti offers mid?roll rewinding capabilities as well.

The Maxima 1350Ti has a sharp zoom lens with a focal length range of 38-140mm.  It is ideal for photographing scenic landscapes one minute, then quickly turning around, zooming out and capturing an intimate portrait the next.  The Maxima 1350Ti makes it easy to get the lighting just right every single time, with multiple flash modes including red-eye reduction and fill-in flash.  The active infrared auto focusing has a focus lock to maintain image sharpness and focus over a range of 2.8 feet to infinity. Exposure is controlled by the Maxima 1350Ti?s programmed auto exposure control that sets both the electronic shutter and aperture for whatever lighting conditions you throw at it.

At just a little over eight ounces, the Maxima 1350Ti was ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hands, making it ready to bring to eye level and capture a special image at a moment?s notice. The built-in diopter means you can leave your glasses back in the hotel, put on your sunglasses and go to the beach ready to capture the sights.  An optional remote allows you to get into the picture yourself.  For long life and dependability, the camera is powered by a single three-volt Lithium battery and uses readily available CR123A or DL123A.

The Maxima 1350Ti is the perfect camera for the young person just getting started or the more experienced photographer to keep as a backup for another camera.  Its simplicity of operation combined with high quality optics also makes it a great gift that won?t deflate your bank account.
