Seasonal Snaps Photo Contest Winners Announced

The winners of the 'Seasonal Snaps' photography competition organised by the New Forest National Park Authority have been announced. The contest attracted over 4,300 votes across 222 photos between 6 and 20 November, and the winners were chosen by a public vote on the National Park Authority’s Facebook page. Alan Sutton, from Pennington, near Lymington, won the main prize for his picture of a stag among bracken named ‘the roar of the wild’ (above). Second prize went to Karen Woodward, Sandy Bemister came third and in fourth place was Linda Lucas-Kenny.

New Forest photo contest attracts record number of entries
A bellowing stag, highland cattle and brightly-coloured fungi were the prize winners in the autumn edition of the ‘Seasonal Snaps’ photo contest, which received a record number of entries.
The regular competition, organised by the New Forest National Park Authority, attracted over 4,300 votes across 222 photos between 6 and 20 November, with entrants hoping to inspire people to cherish the beauty of the New Forest. A selection of pictures can be viewed at www.newforestnpa.gov.uk/seasonalsnaps5.
Photographers submitted their autumnal images of the New Forest on Twitter or Facebook and the winners were chosen by a public vote on the National Park Authority’s Facebook page.
Each of the four winners received one of several prizes, kindly donated by businesses:
- A pair of walking boots from Merrell (www.merrell.com/UK)
- Full-day Twizy electric car hire from Hire a Twizy, Brockenhurst (www.hireatwizy.co.uk)
- A picnic day (including hamper) in Herbie the VW Beetle from New Forest Camper Hire (www.forestvwhire.com). Valid for six months
- Family ticket to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu (www.beaulieu.co.uk). Valid until March 2016.

I hope all four winners enjoy their prizes and I commend all the entrants for taking the time to celebrate the National Park with their photos.’
