UK-Based Street Photographer Launches Definitive Website for the Burgeoning Street Photography Community

Birmingham, England, June 5, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Street photography has exploded in the past decade, particularly among amateur photographers wielding mobile phones. The same rise in popularity has fueled camera sales, photography workshops, and even the photo book industry - all doing the best they've done in decades. Yet, the genre has been largely ignored by traditional galleries and museums. As a result, a number of "virtual spaces" have opened up in dedication to street photography. Now, one such space is set to dominate the scene by nature of its definitive web address alone - streetphotography.com.

The aim of StreetPhotography.com is to support, educate, and inspire a new generation of street photographers in the post Cartier-Bresson world. StreetPhotography.com aims to showcase and promote the very best of the genre, while, simultaneously, providing inspiration to aspiring photographers by way of exclusive content from established names like Bruce Gilden, Jill Freedman, and Marian Schmidt. StreetPhotography.com will allow registered users to submit their photography, essays, and editorials for publication on the site free of charge. Johnny Mobasher, the site's founder, explains StreetPhotography.com's aim, "Long term, my vision is to build a virtual community of street photographers - a place for education, inspiration, and representation. A place where work will not only get shown, but get noticed". Mobasher believes in the value of the definitive domain and its power to attract the community to a central hub. He spent nearly two decades pursuing the domain, after having "just missed" it in the late 90s, and finally secured it a couple of years ago by way of public auction. The rest, he hopes, will be history - street photography history.

StreetPhotography.com is launching this week. Be among the very first arts journalists in the world to experience the website and all it has to offer to the countless aspiring street photographers here in the UK and around the world. The site is opting for a gradual roll out, featuring new content and contributors each month.

StreetPhotography.com is a UK-based virtual community for street photographers founded by businessman and street photographer, Johnny Mobasher.
