X-Rite Press Release

-Calibration standard ensures precision, accuracy, and repeatability of results-

Grandville, MI—June 16, 2005— X-Rite (NASDAQ: XRIT) today announced that it has achieved ISO 17025 Accreditation for its Grandville headquarters in the United States and GMBH operations in Germany. Achieving ISO 17025 Accreditation validates X-Rite’s competence of calibration, ensuring customers consistent and repeatable production yields, optimized results, and compatibility with other products. According to its research, X-Rite is the first and only color management company with this accreditation.

“Achieving ISO 17025 Accreditation is a major milestone for our company as it provides yet another point of differentiation in service and support for our customers in North America and Europe,” said Jeffrey L. Smolinski, X-Rite’s Vice President Operations. “Additionally, it will help the Company establish relationships with customers who require this accreditation as a condition of business.”

The ISO 17025 international standard governs calibration laboratory operations and procedures as well as the data reporting of the calibration services. X-Rite’s testing and calibration laboratories in the United States and Germany comply with this standard. ISO 9001 Certification alone does not demonstrate the competence of a laboratory to produce technically valid data and results, whereas ISO 17025 Accreditation does provide that evidence.
