Ricoh Caplio G4
Review Date: 28th January 2004
Introduction
The
Ricoh G4 was announced back in August 2003. At the time, Ricoh
claimed that the 3.24-megapixel Caplio G4 had a shutter response
time of just 0.14 seconds, exceeding the speed of a conventional
35mm camera and making it the world's fastest in its class
in terms of shutter response time. In addition, the Caplio
G4 has a very fast start-up time of 1.9 seconds, which allows
you to capture the desired shot with a minimum of delay. Other
features, such as the megapixel count and 3x optical zoom,
are standard for this class of camera, so does the sheer speed
of the Ricoh Caplio G4 make it stand out from the crowd? Read
on to find out.
Price
A quick search on Kelkoo.co.uk revealed that Nomatica are selling the Ricoh
Caplio G4 for just £164.62 (including p&p). This price is just for the camera
only, with no other accessories. 3-megapixel camera have really dropped in
price during the last 6 months and there is quite
a
wide
selection
available between £150-200. The Caplio G4 is still very good value for money.
