Sharpness at 200mm

The sharpness tests for this review were carried out using a real-world subject rather than a test chart. The Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS lens was attached to a Sony Alpha A6600 body, which in turn was mounted on a sturdy tripod. Self-timer mode was activated. Slight tonal changes are due to slight changes in natural light during the session.

Center sharpness is disappointingly soft wide-open at f/5.6 but very good between f/8 and f/11. At f/16 to f/22 sharpness across the frame is beginning to drop-off due to diffraction. Edge sharpness isn't quite as good, with f/8 to f/11 producing the best results.
