The balance of size, weight and speed is a bit off here. Sony could have gone a bit bigger, a bit heavier (I mean this thing is like 120 grams!) and a stop or so faster.

Needs to be an f2 really, or even an f1.4 would not be unreasonable. 350 or so grams would be fine.

I have the FE 55/1.8 on the A7r and that’s incredible, especially for the price/weight/size etc.

Sony are going the right way with the FE-mount A7 series. It has a way to go yet to beat a DSLR in performance (AF really) and I hope Sony and Zeiss do add what we really want to the FE range, they have most in A-mount already.


UWA like the CV15 that doesn’t vignette/colour cast;
21/1.8 like the CV21/1.8
35/1.4 to beat Leica Summilux 35/1.4 FLE if possible!

That would be a nice kit.
