Tether Tools have launched a new line of tablet and smartphone mounts for photographers, videographers and musicians. In early October 2012 M-Rock’s new line of camera bags, camcorder bags, lens bags, sling-backpacks and accessory items will be arriving in the USA, featuring the original Double Access Camera Bags. Dutch tripod brand Redged will launch a range of new products at this year’s Photokina. The line-up includes the Redged TSB-527 travel and macro tripod, the Redged RTA-532 five-section tripod that extends to a maximum height of 2m, the RNB-360 ballhead made for panoramic photography, the ultra-compact RNB-0 ballhead with a maximum load capacity of 4kg and two “monopoles,” i.e. extra-long extendible,monopods with maximum heights of 4m and 6m. Sunbounce will be presenting its newest innovation for creative lighting at the Photokina trade show held next week in Cologne, Germany. The Sunbounce Bounce-Wall is a compact system consisting of a supporting arm, flexible bracket and replaceable reflectors. It can be used not only with a hotshoe-mounted flash, as seen in the illustration above, but also with the sun as the light source. The Bounce-Wall is available from authorized retailers beginning 18th September, manufacturer’s suggested retail price €98.50.

Lowepro has introduced a range of funky pouches designed for those out and about enjoying the great outdoors with their camera. The Dashpoint series will accommodate everything from a point and shoot camera or pocket video in the smallest, to a CSC or GPS unit in the largest model. The pouches can be worn on the neck strap supplied, or affixed to a belt or backpack for convenient access to camera gear while on the move. Transcend today announced the company’s first 128GB SDXC memory card. According to the company, each 128GB SDXC card can store a full 32 hours of 1080p Full HD footage (based on 1920x1080 9Mbps H.264 AVC compression) or over eight thousand fourteen-megapixel raw images. These cards comply with the SD 3.0 Class 10 speed rating, which guarantees write speeds of at least 10MB/s but can even achieve read/write speeds of up to 22/16MB per second. Aside from the 128GB (US$169) version, Transcend SDXC cards are also available in 64GB (US$79) capacity.

At Photokina 2012, the LensPen Group will introduce five new lens, filter and display cleaning pens and an improved design on their sensor cleaning loupe. The new SensorKlear Loupe (pictured) features eight LEDs, which is double the four of the original model, and they’re powered by just two AAA batteries. Also, it’s easy to use; just remove the camera lens, place the Loupe on the aperture ring and turn on the light to inspect the sensor. Dry dust can be removed by the Hurricane Blower, while the SensorKlear II pen - which features an angled tip that can be inserted through the access window on the side of the loupe - allows users to “safely and easily” get rid of sticky particles.

Western Digital has introduced its newest version of My Passport line of portable hard drives for PC and Mac with the debut of the USB 3.0 compliant My Passport Edge family. The My Passport Edge for Mac portable hard drive complements MacBook computers and MacBook Air computer designs with an all-aluminium exterior and Adobe Time Machine compatiblity. The My Passport Edge (PC-version) incorporates WD SmartWare continuous and automatic backup software to create a copy of users’ computers’ content to ensure personal digital files are backed-up and protected in the event of computer loss or theft. Western Digital’s My Passport Edge and My Passport Edge for Mac come in a capacity of 500GB and carry recommended retail prices of $109.99 and $119.99, respectively.

The Tiffen Company is now shipping the Lowel Blender 3 Light Kit. The new UV and IR Cut Filter from Hoya is a lens filter that, when attached to your lens, permits only the visible spectrum of light rays to enter the camera. “This is important to digital photographers as the CCD and CMOS sensors found in our cameras are extremely susceptible to catching UV and IR rays just outside the visible spectrum that have a very negative impact on image quality,” the company claims. Available in sizes from 49mm through to 82mm, the new filter can also reduce the effects of atmospheric haze to a greater degree than a standard UV filter. Kata has launched a new line-up of rucksacks for the on-the-go amateur photographer. The new D-Light range offers a series of super-compact yet high-capacity camera bags. The range’s design makes it easy to access gear when the bag is slung on one shoulder, and all bags in the range can be easily converted to a daypack when the user isn’t shooting. The new “Delta Pro” series from Hama comprises a photo tripod, a video tripod and two universal tripods. The two universal tripods “Delta Pro 180 3D” and “Delta Pro 160 3D” are each equipped with a three-way pan-tilt head, with the numbers 160 and 180 referring to the maximum height of the tripods in centimetres. The “Delta Pro 180 2D” video tripod comes with a smooth two-way pan-tilt head, while the “Delta Pro 180 Ball” photo tripod is equipped with a ball-head. Samsung has announced its new ‘Pro’ series of microSD memory cards that provide UHS-I support and up to 64GB of data storage. The full line-up includes the premium series ‘Plus’ and commercial series ‘Standard,’ the company says. Water-, temperature-, magnet- and X-ray-proof, the new Samsung ‘Pro’ line-up of microSD cards deliver read speeds of up to 70 Megabytes per second. Pricing for the new cards has yet to be confirmed.

Hama has announced the launch of its Quick Shoot Strap SC, a smaller version of the original Quick Shoot Strap. Featuring a three-point safety lock, the Hama Quick Shoot Strap SC allows the camera to be “moved from the carrying position to the ready position in a snap, without even moving the strap.” In addition, fourteen air cushions are integrated into the neoprene shoulder pad in order to absorb shocks.
