Schneider-Kreuznach are showcasing an FF-Prime lens with Sony E-Mount for the first time at the International Broadcast Conference (IBC). Up to now, Schneider-Kreuznach's Xenon-branded FF-Primes - which were first announced in 2013 - have been available in Canon, Nikon and PL fit. The FF Prime lenses with Sony E-Mount will become available later this year in 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm focal lengths (all with a maximum aperture of T/2.1), priced from €2,998-€4,320.

Zeiss has announced the new Zeiss Milvus line, which initially comprises six all-metal manual-focus primes optimised for today's high-resolution digital SLR cameras from Canon and Nikon. These include the Zeiss Milvus 21mm f/2.8 (€1,699/$1,843), 35mm f/2 (€1,099/$1,177), 50 f/1.4 (€1,199/$1,199), 50 f/2 Macro (€1,199/1,283), 85mm f/1.4 (€1,799 / $1,799) and 100 f/2 Macro (€1,699/$1,843) lenses. Zhongyi Mitakon have taken the wraps off their newest Micro Four Thirds lens, the Speedmaster 25mm f/0.95. This tiny yet ultra-fast manual-focus lens is available to preorder now, priced at $399. According to the company, the optical construction features 11 elements in 9 groups, and a diaphragm with 11 aperture blades. Weighing in at 230 grams, the Mitakon Speedmaster 25mm f/0.95 takes 43mm filters, and offers a close-focus point of 25cm, measured from the sensor plane.

Canon U.S.A. today announced two new long-zoom 2/3-inch 4K field lenses for 4K UHD broadcast camera systems. The UJ86x9.3B (UHD-DIGISUPER 86) is the flagship Premium 4K field lens and is flanked by the UJ90x9B (UHD-DIGISUPER 90) standard 4K field lens. The zoom ratios of 90x and 86x of these two lenses make them the longest and second-longest 4K broadcast lenses in the world. The UHD-DIGISUPER 86 (pictured) offers a focal range extending from the wide-angle 9.3mm setting out to the telephoto 800mm extremity (18.6-1600mm with the 2x extender). The UHD-DIGISUPER 90 has a wide-angle setting of 9mm and a telephoto extremity of 810mm (18-1620mm with the 2x extender). The UHD-DIGISUPER 86 and 90 lenses will be shipping in October 2015 and March 2016, respectively.

Its optical formula comprises 10 elements arranged in 8 groups including two moulded glass aspherical elements and a low-dispersion element; plus an iris diaphragm with nine rounded aperture blades. The Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD is a stabilised, moisture-resistant moderate wide-angle lens for full-frame SLR cameras, featuring a minimum focus distance of 0.2m and a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:2.5. The optical formula comprises 10 elements in 9 groups, including two moulded glass aspherical elements, a low-dispersion and an extra-low-dispersion element; as well as an iris diaphragm with 9 rounded blades. The front lens element boasts an oil- and water-repellent coating, while some of the other optical elements have been treated with eBAND and BBAR coatings to minimise flare and ghosting. The Canon- and Nikon-mount versions of the SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD feature Tamron's Vibration Compensation technology, which provides up to 3 stops' worth of of image stabilisation when shooting hand-held. Canon China have published half a dozen full-resolution sample images captured with their new EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens. The  Canon EF 35mm F/1.4L II USM is the world’s first lens to boast the company's exclusive Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics technology, which utilises organic material newly developed by Canon to achieve a higher level of chromatic aberration correction than other existing technologies. The molecular design of BR Optics refracts blue light to a greater degree than other existing optical technologies including UD glass, Super UD glass and Fluorite, to control colour fringing as effectively as possible.In addition to BR Optics, the new lens incorporates two aspherical elements and one UD glass element in a 14 element, 11 group optical formula. The EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM lens also features Canon’s proprietary Sub-Wavelength Structure Coating (SWC), applied to the rear surface of the first and second aspheric lens elements to help combat flare and ghosting.

The  Canon EF 35mm F/1.4L II USM is a new moderate wide-angle lens for 35mm full-frame SLR cameras. This is the world’s first lens to boast the company's exclusive Blue Spectrum Refractive Optics technology, which utilises organic material newly developed by Canon to achieve a higher level of chromatic aberration correction than other existing technologies. Canon has announced the CJ12ex4.3B portable 4K 2/3-inch broadcast lens, the world’s first 4K wide-angle lens for use with 4K broadcast cameras featuring 2/3"-type imagers. Designed as a portable wide-angle 12x zoom lens, the CJ12ex4.3B supports framing of scenes containing large amounts of image detail. The form factor for production shooters will be very similar to shooting with Canon's HD lenses in size, weight and controls. Its light weight of 4lbs, 10oz. and compact size make it ideal for shoulder-mounted Electronic News Gathering applications. “With a 96.3 degree angle of view, our best-in-class wide-angle lens will allow broadcasters to capture more of the scene in stunning 4K quality,” said Yuichi Ishizuka, president and COO, Canon U.S.A. Nikon have postponed the launch of their new AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR lens. Originally planned for an August 27 release, the new image stabilised full-frame standard zoom is now expected to hit the shelves in October 2015. Offering up to four stops of image stabilisation, the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8E ED VR is constructed of 20 elements arranged in 16 groups - including a number of aspherical and ED glass elements as well as a new ASP/ED element - and features an iris diaphragm with 9 rounded aperture blades. Nikon's exclusive nano crystal coating is also employed to reduce flare and ghosting. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 38cm and a maximum reproduction ratio of 1:3.6, and is equipped with a Silent Wave Motor for fast and quiet auto focus. The suggested retail price is £1,849.99 / €2,499.00 /$2,399.95.

Samyang has announced a new line of professional video-cinema lenses. The Samyang Xeen range currently consists of three lenses in 24mm, 50mm, and 85mm focal lengths. On a Super 35 sensor, the lenses will give an equivalent view of 35mm, 75mm, and 155mm, which are focal lengths that are commonly used in a variety of cinema and video productions. Three more lenses are planned for release next year for a complete set of six lenses. All Xeen lenses feature a maximum aperture of T1.5, Multi-Nano-Coatings and "outstanding resolving power," and all of them are available in 5 fittings: Canon, Nikon, Sony E, Micro Four Thirds and PL- Each lens has an RRP of £1,600.

Tamron have just released the new 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC lens. Billed as the World's lightest superzoom lens in its class, the Tamron 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC weighs in at a mere 400 grams, allowing for greater portability than any of its predecessors. Featuring 16 elements in 14 groups, the 18-200mm VC uses an LD (Low Dispersion) lens element to minimise chromatic aberrations, and boasts the manufacturer's Vibration Compensation technology, which allows photographers to take sharp hand-held shots at shutter speeds that are critically slow for the focal length used.
