Magix have released a new update of Photostory Deluxe, offering a significant performance upgrade over the previous version. High-resolution image material is now processed up to five times faster, whilst advanced full image editing enables precise photo optimisationdirectly within the program. A fully reworked workflow with 16-bit colour precision enables more creative freedom during effects editing and prevents image artifacts in colour transitions. Over 1,500 intros/outros, transitions, background noise and songs for popular themes such as vacation and travel have been completely redesigned in a clear new layout. The popular Photostory Wizard now has an optimized interface and can now be used for quick photo import. Fullscreen editing is now more advanced and can also be used in the main interface. Photostory Deluxe is now available for € 69,99 / $69.99 / £59.99.

Magix have released a free version of Fastcut, a video editor optimised for action cams and smartphones. Living up to its name, Fastcut 

is easy to use, intuitive and fast. Users simply need to select the required video clips, choose a soundtrack from the in-app library, click "Create video" and the program will create a finished video in seconds. Magix still offer a paid version, Fastcut Plus, which includes features like post-capture image stabilisation and advanced editing tools. Fastcut is free, while Fastcut Plus is available for £39.99.

Fantasea Line have unveiled the rugged and stylish FA6000 underwater housing for the Sony A6000 compact system camera. Depth rated to 60 metres / 200 feet, the Fantasea FA6000 housing features an ergonomic design with access to all essential camera functions. It is shock resistant and protects the camera from water, sand, dust, frost, impact, as well as other damaging elements and harmful occurrences. The FA6000 Housing was designed to be compatible with a complete accessory system, enabling photographers to enhance the quality of their images. Retail price of the FA6000 housing in the USA is $780.

CameraWorld have announced the opening of a new store in the market town of Stevenage. The shop, located on the Old Town High Street, is stocked with all the major names in photography: Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Olympus, Panasonic, and many more. 

In addition to equipment CameraWorld also offer a full range of services including passport and ID photos taken and sensors cleaned by in-store professionals.

Manfrotto has added five new models to the Manfrotto NX and Street Bag Collections. German lens maker Oprema Jena has launched a campaign today on the crowdfunding site Indiegogo to resurrect the Biotar 58mm f2, promising to faithfully recreate the original lens’ optics down to its unique 17-aperture-blade design. The Biotar 58mm is Oprema Jena’s second lens project, following its successful Kickstarter campaign to revive the Biotar 75mm f1.5. The Biotar 58 should be ready for the market in October 2018 at an expected retail price of $1,999.

Techart has unveiled the World’s first autofocus adapter for Canon EF lenses and the Fujifilm GFX 50S camera. The Techart EF-GFX adapter provides autofocus function as well as in-body aperture control for using Canon EF-mount lenses on the Fujifilm GFX body. It currently supports AF-S mode for shooting, and in-lens image stabilisation where applicable. Focal length and aperture data will also be communicated to the body via the adapter. Priced at $499, the Techart Canon EF – Fujifilm GFX Autofocus Adapter is now available for preorder at the website below.

Lensbaby have announced the launch of the Composer Pro II with Sweet 80 Optic, an 80mm f/2.8 tilting lens designed for portrait photographers or anyone looking for selective focus at longer focal lengths. By bending the depth of field around photographers’ subjects, the Sweet 80 achieves Lensbaby’s classic “sweet spot” effect of sharp focus on the subject while the surrounding area fills with compelling streaky bokeh. The new optic features an internal 12-blade aperture which can be stopped down all the way to f/16. The Composer Pro II with Sweet 80 Optic will be available for purchase in early October 2017 for $379.95. For those who already own an Optic Swap compatible Lensbaby lens body, the Sweet 80 Optic will be available separately for $199.95.
