The M10 is the latest digital rangefinder from German manufacturer, Leica.

It features a 24MP full-frame sensor, an updated MAESTRO II processor, and an improved viewfinder. It uses the rangefinder technique of focusing - and is therefore manual focus only.

Following on from the M (Typ 240), the camera is already available to buy, and costs £5,600 (body only).

Canon U.S.A. is returning as a Sustaining Sponsor to the 2017 Sundance Film Festival held in Park City, Utah. The company will welcome invited 2017 Sundance Film Festival attendees to the Canon Creative Studio (open 21-24 January, from 11am-6pm) for interactive displays of Canon equipment, live panel discussions, and a relaxing lounge stocked with coffee, snacks, and wireless internet connection. The latest issue of M Magazine is now available and presents a wide variety of articles from the world of Leica rangefinder photography. The magazine appears in English and German and is published for global distribution. The fifth issue features a ‘best of’ historic photographs by Ernesto Bazan, captivating reportage work by Peter Bauza and José Colón, impressive images captured by Fred Mortagne and Giovanni del Brenna and emotive insights into the life of Russian children in a summer camp by Claudine Doury. The Societies of Photographers have announced the overall winner of their 2016 Photographer of the Year Awards. Darrin Zammit Lupi from Malta was awarded the Photographer of the Year title by The Societies during the Awards Dinner at their annual convention and London Photo Show. In addition to receiving his trophy, Darrin also walked away with a Fujifilm X-T2 and with XF18-55mm lens and a fully paid ticket to the WPPI Convention in Las Vegas.

Color Confidence have announced the winner of the Inspired by Colour photography competition. The yearlong competition encouraged photographers to submit images based on a different theme each month. “Each month we enjoyed viewing the photographs that were submitted as part of the Inspired by Colour competition,” says Geoffrey Clements, Managing Director at Color Confidence. “We are passionate about colour and it was great to see the different genres, techniques and approaches that were used.” At the end of the competition, Violeta Angel from Northampton was crowned ‘Color Confidence Photographer of the Year 2016’ for her winning image 'Seagull'. She received the grand prize of £1,000 worth of photography equipment.

Fujifilm have announced that it will release the GFX 50S medium format mirrorless digital camera on February 23, 2017. At the same time, it will also release the FUJINON GF 63mm F2.8 R WR, FUJINON GF 32-64mm F4 R LM WR, and FUJINON GF 120mm F4 R LM OIS WR Macro interchangeable lenses. The GFX 50S will cost $6495 / £6199 body only.

The Fujifilm X100F is a powerful new addition to the X Series range of premium compact cameras. The X100F features the latest 24.3 megapixel sensor and processor, and further evolution of the renowned Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, which can switch between optical and electronic viewfinders. The Fujifilm X100F will be available from 16th February 2017 in Black and Silver, with an RRP of £1,249.00.

The Fujifilm X-T20 is a stylish, powerful yet lightweight mirrorless digital camera with a tilting touchscreen LCD. The X-T20 offers a 24.3 megapixel sensor and brand new image processor which delivers high speed AF, fast start-up and 4K video with Film Simulation modes. The Fujifilm X-T20 will be available in Black and Silver from 23rd February 2017 for £799 body only, £899 in a kit with the XC 16-50mm lens, or £1099 with the  XF 18-55mm lens.

Fujifilm announces its third compact, light and stylish lens for X Series - the FUJINON XF 50mmF2 R WR. The lens features a focal length equivalent to 76mm (in the 35mm film format) and a maximum aperture of F2.0 for beautiful bokeh. The compact and stylish optic also offers high speed AF and weighs just 200g. The Fujifilm FUJINON XF 50mm F2 R WR will be available in black and silver from 23rd February 2017 with an RRP of £449.00.

Fujifilm has announced a new camera service dedicated to the needs of professional photographers, called ‘Fujifilm Professional Service’. This will commence on March 1st 2017 in the biggest markets, like the UK and Germany, and will be gradually expanded during 2017 to service all major markets in Europe, including Turkey and Russia. The new service will cost €300 (£260) per year, but will be offered free to those who qualify, for the first two years. Qualification is offered to all working photographers and also to those who own a GFX system or at least 2 professional camera bodies and three XF lenses.

The new Leica M10 is the slimmest digital M-system rangefinder camera to date. With a top plate depth of only 33.75 millimeters, a whole four millimeters less than that of its close relative, the Leica M (Typ 240), the Leica M10 is comparable in size to the classic M4 film camera. The new model offers an improved viewfinder with a magnification factor of 0.73 and a 50% higher eye-point; a bespoke 24-megapixel full-frame sensor with a unique pixel and microlens architecture and an expanded sensitivity range of ISO 100-50,000; a top-mounted ISO setting dial; a sequential shooting speed of 5fps; integrated WLAN connectivity and a freely-configurable Favourites Menu. Available tomorrow, the Leica M10 will be priced at £5,600/€6,500/$6,595.
