Polaroid has released Polaroid Print Store, a new iOS app that transforms your digital photos into real-life Polaroid styled printed products. The app offers a number of ways to display your images - from packs of 12, 24 or 36 glossy Polaroid prints all stored inside a keepsake box, to mini prints, stickers, canvasses, framed prints, magnets (pictured), or even the accordion style Pic Book, which has nine Polaroid prints all connected together. You can edit your photos in the app before you send them off to print, by cropping, adding captions, and making them personal. Once your photos are ready, you can have them delivered to your home or to friend’s as a present. For the UK, shipping times are 3-5 days from receiving an order to being delivered to your door. Prices range from £8.99 for a set of 12 mini polaroid prints to £84.99 for a large 430mm x 540mm framed print. You can purchase all items via the app using a credit card, PayPal or Apple Pay.

Adobe have launched Photoshop Elements 15 and Premiere Elements 15. For this newest release of Photoshop Elements, Adobe focused on further automating the organisation and editing, and added touchscreen compatibility to their Organiser and Quick Edit mode, enhanced the Search function, automated the tagging of photos based on subjects like sunsets birthday, dogs, cats etc., and improved upon the program's instant fix functionality so that you can quickly and easily edit a batch of photos at one time. Additionally, there are five brand new Guided Edits and an enhanced Filter Gallery, plus a new set of tools aimed at "adjusting" facial features. Premiere Elements 15 also brings touch functionality and gets the Haze Removal tool that was introduced to Photoshop Elements a while ago. This tool enables you to easily remove haze to make the background of your scenes as crisp as what’s up front. Face detection has been added to Smart Trim, Favourite Moments and Pan and Zoom, giving priority to footage of what matters most – the people in your videos – when suggesting places to trim. There's a new Layer Adjustment Guided Edit, a Remix feature and a Video Collage creation toolset.

Alien Skin Software today announced Exposure X2, the latest version of its flagship photo editor. Adobe have announced an update to Lightroom for mobile, making it one of the first apps for capturing Adobe DNG photos on iOS 10 devices. Lightroom for mobile 2.5 delivers an end-to-end Adobe DNG raw mobile photography workflow while also adding support for the new wide gamut P3 color space found in the iPad Pro 9.7 and the soon-to-be-released iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

Quick Color Match is a new software solution that greatly simplifies CMS (color management system) settings for photo enthusiasts and professional photographers alike. Quick Color Match was developed under a first-ever collaboration between EIZO and Adobe, Canon, and Epson. Quick Color Match automatically adjusts a compatible ColorEdge monitor’s gain, brightness, gamma, and color space (Adobe RGB) and creates a profile for these settings that is optimized for the selected printer paper type. Dragging and dropping a photo into the Quick Color Match window automatically opens Adobe Photoshop and adjusts the software to EIZO’s recommended color settings based on the printer and paper being used. Quick Color Match is now available as a free download.

Akvis Software has released Noise Buster 10 for Windows and Mac OS. Akvis Noise Buster reduces both luminance and colour noise in digital images without blurring the edges of objects. Some of the improvements in the latest version of the program include a redesigned interface with support for UHD displays, a new Remove Moiré check-box, new Crop and Smudge tools, a range of presets, an innovative noise reduction algorithm that provides advanced capabilities for better processing, and more. The software is available as a standalone application and as a plug-in to Adobe Photoshop and other image editors.

Vivid-Pix, a software company with a focus on photography, has announced that its easy-to-use Land & Sea software is now available to purchase. Anthropics Technology have released PortraitPro Body - the industry’s first dedicated full-body retouching software. According to the company, "PortraitPro Body’s cutting-edge technology is based on academic research into human appearance and on extensive training in human body shape and beauty." The program is available in two editions, PortraitPro Body Standard ($39.95) and PortraitPro Body Studio ($59.95). The standard version is a standalone applicationç whilst the studio edition additionally includes a Photoshop/Lightroom plug-in, handles camera raw files, supports conversion between different colour spaces and provides support for embedded colour profiles.

Akvis have announced a major update to Akvis Retoucher, an image restoration program for Mac and Windows. Version 8.0 adds a History Brush tool, an innovative image retouching mode for correcting small defects, several new setting options, support for 4K and 5K displays, and more. Corel have released PaintShop Pro X9, introducing a range of new features and enhancements that promise to help anyone working with images start (and finish) their personal and professional projects faster than ever. Cascable, an iOS-based remote control app that works with a number of Wi-FI capable cameras, has just been updated to version 2.0. Now supporting 50 models of camera from Canon, Nikon, Sony and Olympus, Cascable enablesfull remote control as well as copying and exporting full resolution photos, including raw files. The basic edition of Cascable 2.0 is available for free from the iTunes App Store, with Pro feature packs being available at $9.99 each.

Macphun have revealed a sneak peek at Aurora HDR 2017, which introduces a number of new tools and improvements including batch processing, reworked Tone Mapping and Bracket Merging technologies, a Polarise Filter, plus new presets created by HDR professionals. Additionally, the rendering of raw files will now be much faster. Aurora 2017 will officially launch on 29th September, and will be available for pre-order from 14th September.

Manfrotto have launched Version 2.1 of the Manfrotto Digital Director app, new Digital Director models compatible with iPad Pro 12,9“ and iPad mini 4, and a range of new accessories. Digital Director is the only Apple certified (MFi – Made for iPad) electronic device that connects your camera (select Canon and Nikon DSLRs) and iPad allowing you to shoot, check, edit, share and manage your pictures. Akvis have announced a major update of their most popular artistic plugins and standalone applications. The new versions - Akvis Sketch 18.0, OilPaint 5.0, AirBrush 4.0, Draw 4.0, Charcoal 2.0 and Points 2.0 - bring frames for artworks, new effect presets, an innovative user interface with support for Ultra HD displays, and a number of other changes. Ricoh have released "THETA+ Video" for Android, an Android version of the THETA + Video app for editing video captured with the Ricoh THETA 360° camera. This application makes it easy to edit and process 360° video captured with the Ricoh THETA S and RICOH THETA m15 and enables actions such as trimming, switching the view, changing colour tone, and inserting background music. Video can be cropped to the preferred angle then posted and shared on social media channels such as Instagram and Facebook. The "THETA+ Video" app is available as a free download from the Google Play Store.

Adobe have launched Lightroom for Apple TV. This release allows users to view and share all of their synced Lightroom photos - including images they have uploaded via Lightroom CC on their desktop, Lightroom on mobile, or Lightroom on the web. Lightroom for Apple TV requires an Apple TV 4th Gen as well as a Creative Cloud subscription to login. The app can be downloaded for free from the App Store on your Apple TV, and is available now.

Leica has announced that firmware update 2.1, along with Leica Image Shuttle 3.4 and the Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 for the Leica SL are now available to download. The Leica Image Shuttle 3.4 software improves workflow efficiency for tethered shooting with the Leica SL, and allows the camera to be controlled from a computer via USB. Additionally, the Leica Tethered Plug-in 1.1.0 establishes a direct connection between the Leica SL and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC via USB cable. The shutter release can be activated from the plug-in and the images captured can be displayed immediately in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 / CC. Firmware Version 2.1 is required to take advantage of these software updates. Registered Leica SL owners can opt to download the new firmware and software from the Leica Owner’s Area, or take their camera to their nearest Leica Store or Leica Customer Care in the UK for a complimentary update service.
