United Kingdom / Republic of Ireland, 24 January, 2008: Canon continues to open up high-quality home photo printing to a wider group of users with the launch of the PIXMA iP2600. This new entry-level printer replaces the PIXMA iP2500 and is targeted at users looking for great value, high quality photo printing. Producing a 10x15cm borderless photo in just 55 seconds, the PIXMA iP2600 produces photo lab quality 4800x1200 dpi prints. The integrated print head FINE1 cartridge produces 2pl ink droplets for the finest imaging in the PIXMA iP2600’s class.

Re-styled for 2008 with a lower profile and output tray, the PIXMA iP2600 delivers great design with value. The printer ships with Easy-PhotoPrint EX software,2 allowing users to print images simply. Auto Image Fix – included in the package – uses face detection and scene analysis to fine-tune colour, contrast and brightness settings.

Employing Micro-Nozzles to eject ink droplets as small as 2pl onto the page, the maximum 4800x1200dpi FINE print head delivers amazing image clarity. Prints last as long as 100 years when stored in an album, thanks to the ChromaLife100 system.3

Document print speeds are 22 ppm (mono) and 17 ppm (colour). The FINE Cartridge system employs a separate black pigment ink to render deeper blacks for stronger text printing.
