Canon continues commitment to analogue camera market with the Sure Shot 130u Mark II Date

Canon, leader in photographic and imaging technology, is pleased to announce the launch of the Sure Shot 130u Mark II Date – a fully automatic 35mm lens shutter camera with a 3.4x zoom lens. Lightweight and compact, the camera features 3-point AiAF with a high AF speed, and a Light Guide zoom flash. With six shooting modes, a signal beeper and five custom functions, the Sure Shot 130u Mark II Date is designed for ease of use and versatility.

Canon quality zoom lens
Drawing on Canon’s 70-year heritage of precision optics, the Sure Shot 130u Mark II Date features a powerful 3.4x (38–130mm) zoom lens with an asperical element to ensure crisp, high-contrast results. The multi-group/multi-element design ensures the camera is compact and lightweight, yet still provides clear images at all zoom positions.

A high-precision, passive 3-point AiAF with an integrated AF/AE sensor unit provides fast, sharp auto focusing even for off-centre subjects. A multi-point CMOS focus sensor links with the zoom lens to ensure the three focus points maintain their position within the frame. The Program AE locks the exposure when AF is complete. The built in light guide zoom flash adjusts automatically to match the zoom position, and offers seven modes, including red-eye reduction.

User-friendly versatility
Replacing the Sure Shot 130u, the Sure Shot 130u Mark II Date now features a signal beeper to assist users by providing a camera shake warning, focus confirmation, settings confirmation and self-timer operation. Six practical shooting modes are designed to cover a wide range of shooting situations; modes include Auto, Action (for continuous in-focus shooting of moving subjects), Night Portrait (flash for subject and slow shutter speed for background), Portrait, Close-up, and Real-Time release, which provides a faster reaction of the shutter release with centre-point auto focus.

The five custom functions provide alternatives to some of the standard camera features, allowing users to optimize the camera to their preferred personal settings. Functions include a mode that remembers preferred shooting and flash settings when the camera is switched on. There is centre-point only AF selection, and a sequence shooting feature with a maximum capture rate of about one frame per second. A date function allows date and time recording on photographs.
