PicaJet.Com Releases PicaJet 2.4

PicaJet 2.4 puts Picasa to shame.

Two years after entering the photo organizers market, PicaJet has created quite a stir, with some folks calling it “Picasa killer” or “Swish Army Knife of photo albums”.  But, all the hype aside, PicaJet’s success lies within a simple strategy on concentrating on few important features, rather trying to be many things to many people.  As Gregory Anderson eloquently put it in his October2004 article in Smart Computing, “unlike many other digital imaging programs, PicaJet focuses on doing one thing and doing it well.”

This year, in order to increase its market share, software developers introduced a free version of PicaJet.

The software imports photos from digital cameras, DVD, scanners or other programs and automatically organizes them according to the user-set parameters within seconds.  It supports 3D-acceleration and offers basic search and editing features (cropping, resizing, etc.).  Plus, users can use the free version to share images via e-mail, create web galleries or print the images.

Folks who would like more options and freedom to experiment with their photographs should opt for PicaJet 2.4 FX.  The new version is 10 dollars more than the previous one, but the price hike is well justified by the number of features that have been added. For instance, the speed of importing images is now an impressive 200 photographs per second.

PicaJet 2.4 FX automatically enhances images making them brighter and sharper, removes red eyes and comes with a notable set of editing tools that is on par with Photoshop.  Importantly, while editing, the original image is NEVER replaced, so it can’t be lost or damaged.

Professional photographers with thousands of images stored on their hard drives will surely be thankful for photo indexing and advanced image search engine features that make it possible to find images based on previously assigned keywords, file names, date of creation or EXIF/IPTC metadata parameters.

PicaJet 2.4 FX also comes with a smart printer option - the pictures can be printed in 8x10, 6x8, 5x7 or custom sizes with a single mouse-click, without cropping, resizing or rotating.  The program prints images one by one or in series.  All images or photo albums can be backed up to CD or DVD.  Other cool features include duplicate image finder, missing link locator, hidden file search, password protection, slideshow creator.

PicaJet 2.4 is distributed electronically over the Internet; free demo version is available at http://www.picajet.com/ for evaluation.

The price of a single copy is 39.95 US Dollars.
