Lürzer’s Archive, an international publishing house specializing in advertising and related fields, presents the best new advertising campaigns from all over the world. Over 70 distributors in 35 countries circulate the magazine to our 150,000 readers. Since 1998, we have been producing Lürzer’s Archive Specials, impressive volumes featuring outstanding international work from areas of graphic design such as music, packaging, catalogs & brochures, commercial illustration and photography. Following the overwhelming success of the first volume, our latest Archive Special, “200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide 06/07,” was published in October 2006. It showcases work by 200 of the world’s best-known names in advertising photography, such as Nadav Kandar from the UK, Uwe Duettmann from Germany, Pierpaolo Ferrari from Italy, Marc Gouby from France, Ricardo Barcellos from Brazil, Takahito Sato from Japan, and Mark Laita from the USA. The price of this hefty volume numbering 388 pages is – like that of all our Specials – just €23.50.
The photographers invited to submit work to our “Best 200” special either have to have been recommended by an art director, or their work must have previously appeared in an Archive publication. Submissions were accepted only if the images in question had been produced no longer than 18 months ago.
External experts provided the additional discernment required when completing the final selection process. They included Anne-Rose Schlutbohm, the former publisher of “Profession Photographe,” Paris, David and Claudia Monaco from Monaco Reps, New York, and Sydney-based photographer Eryk Fitkau. Out of a total of 7,803 images received from 603 photographers invited to submit work, 907 pictures taken by the 200 Best Photographers were selected. The individual photographers were invited to decide how many, and which, images they wished to have published.
Names of the photographer, agency, art director and client appear under each image. The index at the back of the book also lists full contact details for each photographer.
A further advantage of the book is the unique flip-cover system. This enables you to select the photographer from the index and to flip open the relevant page in the book at the same time.
A total of 20,000 copies of 200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide 06/07 will be circulated to art buyers throughout the world by our distributors based in no less than 35 countries.
15 copies will be mailed out on behalf of each photographer. Each photographer featured in 200 Best Ad Photographers worldwide will also be represented by a Personal Showcase at www.luerzersarchive.com, enabling them to upload 12 images of their own best work to a website boasting 15 million hits and 150,000 visitors per month.
