The Master Photographers Association (MPA) has announced details of its 2010 Master Photography Awards. The Awards are open to all qualified members of the Association, plus there are also several categories that are open to all professional photographers anywhere in the world - not just members of the MPA. Categories include wedding, portrait, landscape, scientific and commercial. The entry fee is £8.50.

2010 MPA Awards – now open for entries

The Master Photographers Association (MPA) has announced details of its 2010 Master Photography Awards that will see photographers doing battle for the title of Master Photographer of the Year 2010.

The Awards are the most prestigious for photographers in the UK, and are open to all qualified members of the Association, plus there are also several categories that are open to ALL professional photographers anywhere in the world - not just members of the MPA.

The Awards attract a wide range of styles across the full spectrum of professional image making. Categories include wedding, portrait, landscape, scientific and commercial.

“A major highlight of this year will be the new Yervant Bridal Award, which will see the winner claiming a free place on one of Yervant’s world famous workshops. This is a truly brilliant prize that gives someone the chance to learn from the master,” says Colin Buck, MPA Chief Executive. “The Master Photography Awards ceremony is always an exciting event and we’re looking to make 2010 the best yet.”

The judging panel - this year headed by Henk Van Kooten FMPA, MQEP - evaluates each entry and awards points based on impact, composition, colour management and workmanship. The winners will be presented with their oskars at the Awards dinner, to be held at the Hilton Metropole at the NEC in Birmingham on Sunday 17 October. Tickets for this glittering event will be available soon.

All entries must be accompanied by an entry form (forms can be downloaded from www.masterphotographyawards.co.uk). The entry fee has been kept at the 2009 price of £8.50.
