Adobe Creative Lectures bridging industry and education

06 May, London: Adobe today announced the launch of the Adobe Education Creative Lectures to showcase Creative industry best practice and encourage skill development for both students and lecturers.  The tour will combine hands-on training days for lecturers, working in the Creative/Media HE colleges and universities, validated by industry certification, alongside lecture days for students on-site at the college campuses.

Used by leading education institutions across the UK, Adobe® Creative Suite 4® software is the vital tool for students wishing to establish careers in the digital creative sector. The tour is designed to demonstrate to both lecturers and students how get the most out of the software - to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary - and equip them with the 21st century tools needed to succeed.

“These lectures will enable students to make the transition from producing work as an undergraduate to meeting the demands of employers in the creative workplace.  Having a real understanding of CS4® and industry best-practice will enable students to hit the ground running.” Says Liz Wilkins, Adobe’s Marketing Manager for Education.

The free one-day Creative lectures will be held at locations across the UK and are run directly by Adobe, with several locations in association with Jigsaw, Phoenix Software and Academia. For lecturers at some institutions, Adobe will provide hands-on training in what’s new with CS4® and attain relevant Adobe accreditations; for students, it will provide a deeper understanding of key industry competencies including digital design, web communication, rich media and visual design.
