Photographer Al Satterwhite opens new exhibit

Woodstock, IL October 10, 2007 Internationally renowned photographer Al Satterwhite set to open his latest exhibit, “Fear and Loathing in Mexico… Hunter S. Thompson.” The exhibit is presented by East Village Collective and The Woodstock Film Festival. The show will run from October 10-November 10.

Satterwhite originally met Hunter S. Thompson in Cozumel, Mexico back in 1974, when he photographed for Playboy. When the assignment was over, Hunter asked Al to hang around a bit longer. During that time, Satterwhite had the opportunity to take some great images and get to know Hunter very well.
The images at the show will represent the time Al spent with Hunter in Cozumel. Most of the images will be printed on Hahnemuhle FineArt Pearl, as well as images printed on Aluminum and done in Jacquard weaves style.

Satterwhite said, ” I love the texture and luminosity of Hahnemuhle papers. I love the variety to choose from, the ability to tailor the paper to the image. The image just looks so superb on Hahnemuhle paper…better even than the good ole days of silver gelatin papers.”

Al Satterwhite is known for his saturated color images and keen sense of design and innovative composition. Satterwhite has expanded his photography career to include still, magazines, advertising and motion picture photography. He was honored by Nikon and made a “Legend” in 2005.
