Arles Photography Open Salon at Galerie Huit is an International Photography Open Call designed to showcase cutting-edge contemporary and emerging photography from around the world. This is “an exceptional opportunity to exhibit in Arles during and alongside the renowned Les Rencontres d’Arles photography festival, and have exposure for almost 3 months, in the magnificent settings of Galerie Huit,” the organisers say. In 2012 the Arles exhibition in Galerie Huit will run from 2nd July – 23rd September 2012. The theme of this years Photography Open Salon 2012 is ‘An Eye for an Ear‘. The deadline for applications is 10 May. The application fee is £45 for 8 images.

An exceptional opportunity to exhibit in Arles during and alongside the renowned Les Rencontres d’Arles photography festival, and have exposure for almost 3 months, in the magnificent settings of Galerie Huit. And then in South East Asia in early 2013.

Arles is the highlight of the international photography calendar: last year festival attendees were estimated at 84,000, including prominent international collectors, curators, gallerists, artists, publishers and photographers.

Last year Arles Photography Open Salon showcased 112 Artists from 32 countries both in Arles and South East Asia.

This year selected artists from the 2012 Arles Photography Open Salon will also be showcased in South East Asia in early 2013.

Theme:  An Eye for an Ear

Exhibition Dates: 2nd Jul - 23rd Sep 2012 Arles, France / Jan-Feb 2013 Penang, Malaysia

Awards: Exhibition exposure in Arles, exhibition exposure in South East Asia, entry in the catalogue and a one month Artist Residency with Galerie Huit Arles is awarded to the overall Winner and other prizes.

Application fee: £45 for 8 images (fee includes printing, hanging, transport of the artwork that we print to and from Arles and South East Asia)
