Artloco Press Release

The shop has been a subject of talk for many months as it was available to a local artist rent free who could inspire the community. Sallie Court has been chosen to bring her vision to the community. It will be a new and exciting community gallery and will be opening in Ticehurst, East Sussex in December 2009.

Artloco will bring a wealth of art to the community from the community, a celebration of local art for local people. It will show how creative the community is and also teach the community new skills. It will be a meeting place that will inspire each and every resident of our capabilities as a community.

Artloco will be a hub of creativity in Ticehurst and surrounding areas, but the vision is to also bring art from national and international communities to expand thought and show what is possible.

It is to be a buzzing and vibrant base of creativity; the shop will be the centre point but make use of other opportunities throughout the area. It will work closely with other villages to display artworks throughout the region but all point back to Ticehurst.

Artloco will be a constantly changing environment with regular community activities and exhibitions.

It will offer a wide range of exhibitions that will encourage thought and discussion. Also to coincide with the monthly exhibitions within the gallery will be art workshops. This will be freely available to local people to gain an opportunity to have hands on experience on how to produce the art on display. This will range from visiting potters, photographers, painters, sculptors and even fashion designers. Special children’s workshops will also be running throughout the year.

The first exhibition is to be photography, are you a photographer? Amateur or professional? If so please contact Sallie on [email protected] or have a look at the website www.artloco.co.uk. If you would like to exhibit at Artloco it is looking for fine artists, sculptors etc for exhibitions in the beginning of 2010.
