BenQ Wins 17 iF Product Design Awards

Hannover, Germany, 9th of March, 2006 – Seventeen BenQ lifestyle designed products will receive the prestigious 2006 iF Design Award for design excellence, including a BenQ scanner which will also receive iF International Forum Design’s top honor, the Gold Award. Known in industrial design circles as the “design Oscars,” this year’s Gold Award will be bestowed on the BenQ 7350CT scanner in recognition for its outstanding design. The iF Gold Award is given to a select group of 50 products a year, out of a total number of 1,952 product entries from 37 different countries.

This year marks the third consecutive year that BenQ products have garnered the iF committee’s acknowledgement for outstanding product design. The addition of the 17 iF awards brings BenQ’s total number of iF Awards to 35.

The awarded BenQ products include the BenQ Ulysses B1 mobile phone, Venus C3 mobile phone, M580 mobile phone, S88 mobile phone, Hermes-bar mobile phone, Cupid mobile phone, AX 75 mobile phone, CF 110 mobile phone, SL 75 mobile phone, DC E520 digital camera, DC X610 digital camera, FP72V LCD monitor, FP93V LCD monitor, 7350CT scanner, VL3231 LCD TV, PW100 pocket writer and M530 wireless optical mouse.

“Integrating the brand spirit of BenQ-Siemens and extending BenQ’s design philosophy of ‘Meeting of Opposites’ is the goal of BenQ and Siemens,” said Manfred Wang, Director of BenQ Lifestyle Design Center, “BenQ will use innovative designs to satisfy our customers in Europe and America as well as emerging markets.”

The 17 BenQ products will be awarded during the CeBIT Exhibition in Hannover, Germany on 9 March 2006 at 12:00 at Pavilion 11D, Hall 11.

iF Design Award
The iF Design Award, which was established in 1953, is sponsored by Industrie Forum Design Hanover of Germany. This award is deemed as one of the most significant design competitions worldwide, attracting over 1,800 entries from 30 different countries yearly. The jury is comprised of top international designers, not only decisively examines and elects the award-winning entries, but also guarantees iF’s special status and the high-quality reputation of the iF label.
