Abe Ordover established the Ordover Gallery in 2003 in Solana Beach, California. Ordover, a Yale-educated law professor, attorney, and mediator, had changed careers and become a fine-art photographer. The gallery was established with the mission of elevating the photographic-art form to greater prominence among collectors and nature enthusiasts by showcasing the nation’s best nature and wildlife photographers. To date, The Ordover Gallery has featured the contemporary masters of the medium, including Art Wolfe, William Neill, Charles Cramer, Christopher Burkett, Galen Rowell, and more. In 2006, The Ordover Gallery formed a partnership with the San Diego Natural History Museum, which led to the opening of a second gallery on the Museum’s 4th floor. The Ordover Gallery’s imagery and artists’ biographies can be viewed at www.ordovergallery.com.

The San Diego Natural History Museum is celebrating its 137th anniversary this year. Founded by citizen naturalists, it is the second-oldest scientific institution in California and the third oldest west of the Mississippi. The Museum specializes in the study of biodiversity; the results of active research are passed on to the community through its education programs and exhibitions. The Museum is open daily with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas; visit www.sdnhm.org for current admission hours and prices.
