FUJIFILM REWARDS PHOTO BOOK PROMOTION IDEAS WITH NEW CONTEST
Enter for a Chance to Win $2,500 in “The Best Photo Book Promotion Ideas Ever!” Contest
Valhalla, N.Y., September 7, 2010 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation announces the “Best Photo Book Promotion Ideas Ever! Contest,” a competition looking for unique, attention-getting, and persuasive ideas for promoting photo books. Professional photofinishers are encouraged to share their thoughts for a chance to win the $2,500 grand prize. Whether the idea was already the centerpiece of a successful retail photo book promotion or a new idea that has not yet been promoted, all entries are encouraged. The purpose is to share ideas within the industry to drive trial of photo books. The contest runs through October 31, 2010. For complete details and entry form, go to www.PhotoBusinessBuilders.com.
Submissions will be evaluated for their potential to generate sales, creativity and how easily others can replicate the idea. One Grand Prize winner will receive a cash award of $2,500, the first and second place winners will each receive $1,000. The winners, as chosen by a panel of business and marketing experts, will be announced in early December. Each winner will also receive public relations support to help promote their winning idea.
Fujifilm is sponsoring the contest to encourage professional photofinishers to focus on the photo book market, including developing innovative ways to educate and persuade potential customers to make their first photo book.
According to the “US Photo Merchandise End User Study” by InfoTrends, a digital imaging market research firm, almost 90% of the people who do create a photo book say that they are likely to make and purchase additional photo books in the future.
“Photo books are very appealing, but have not yet taken hold in the mass consumer market,” said Joellyn Gray, director of marketing, Imaging Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “The industry needs to move beyond price promotion to persuasive marketing ideas to build trial. Once consumers make a book, they will create more. Photo books are a true win-win for the consumer and the photo industry.”
