BLACKBERRY AND MTV LAUNCH EXCLUSIVE ‘BRAND NEW FOR 2011’ COMPETITION
Win the opportunity to become a Director, Reporter or Photographer at ‘BlackBerry Presents MTV’s Brand New for 2011’
This month marks the launch of ‘BlackBerry Presents MTV’s Brand New for 2011’; the annual list of emerging musical talent that MTV has tipped for the top. To celebrate, BlackBerry is introducing the exclusive ‘Brand New For 2011’ competition, whereby one aspiring director, reporter or photographer will win a money-can’t-buy opportunity to showcase their talents with MTV.
With last year’s line-up including Tinie Tempah, Ellie Goulding and eventual winner Justin Bieber, ten new acts will fight it out to be crowned the brightest star of 2011. Indie band The Vaccines; songwriter Labrinth; grime MC Wretch 32 and pop starlet Willow Smith are amongst those vying for the coveted accolade. The ‘Brand New for 2011’ competition will give three creative music lovers the chance to live out their ambition at one of two Brand New 2011 live events in London on 25th and 26th January 2011 via www.blackberry.com/brandnew.
The successful director will secure the enviable prize of sitting in the gallery while the show is filmed; ensuring a unique insight into just how a live music show is directed and captured. To win, entrants are invited to create a short video creatively illustrating their ultimate night out in their hometown.
One lucky reporter will spend the night with MTV Presenter Laura Whitmore and her MTV news crew interviewing the hot new acts at one of the live gigs. To win entrants must describe, in no more than 200 words, what their Ultimate MTV gig would be.
Finally, the winning photographer will be hanging out with MTV Bang presenter and model Natasha Gilbert, documenting the evening and artists through a lens. To secure this unique opportunity, entrants can simply upload their best picture from a live event, ensuring the image reflects the atmosphere and experience, and accompany this with a caption.
All entrants can go to www.blackberry.com/brandnew to find out more about the competition and enter. The three winners of 2011 will also be invited to become BlackBerry Brand New Ambassadors, so that they can talk about their experience and inspire others to enter the competition in the future.
Now in its third year, ‘BlackBerry Presents MTV’s Brand New for 2011’ will be holding their two Brand New 2011 gigs at Camden’s KoKo on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th January with exclusive performances from four of the finalists as well as further surprise headlining acts. Tickets to the event can also be won by BlackBerry Facebook fans by heading to www.blackberry.com/brandnew
