The integrated photo book module within Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 is the result of close co-operation between Adobe and Blurb, the latter said in a statement. The integration offers a seamless experience by providing the tools to create professional-quality photography books, coupled with a direct link to Blurb.com for printing, marketing and distribution. “The Lightroom 4 integration has enabled us to reach a whole new set of professional and enthusiast photographers who are just now discovering Blurb for the first time,” said Eileen Gittins, founder and CEO of Blurb. “The feedback from this discriminating group has been consistent: they are blown away by the quality we offer.” Users will automatically receive a 20% discount on their first Blurb book created within - and ordered through - Lightroom 4. This offer is valid through 31 December 2012.

Blurb Delivers Integrated Bookmaking for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, Available Now

London - March 6, 2012 - Blurb, the creative publishing and marketing platform, today announced that its collaboration with Adobe Systems to enable streamlined bookmaking within Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® 4, is now available to all. The integration offers a seamless experience by providing the tools directly within Lightroom 4 “Book module” to create professional-quality photography books, coupled with a direct link to Blurb.com for printing, marketing and distribution. During the public beta period, which kicked off on January 9, Lightroom customers made more than 1000 unique Blurb books using the integrated Lightroom workflow.

“It was a top priority to give our customers an elegant photo book creation experience within Lightroom,” said Tom Hogarty, Lightroom Principal Product Manager at Adobe. “The response to our integration with Blurb during the beta period was outstanding, and reinforced our commitment to offering bookmaking tools to our customers. Blurb has truly delivered on the quality and experience requirements expected by Adobe customers.”

Blurb offers the greatest number of book customisation options of any on-demand publishing platform, including the rich array of paper, end sheet and case cover options within its recently launched ProLine. Lightroom users will also be able to take advantage of Blurb’s online marketing tools and sell their books in the Blurb online bookstore, which provides professional photographers with an easy way to market and distribute their books.

“As a longtime Adobe user, it’s dramatically improved my workflow to have access to bookmaking tools directly within Lightroom,” said surf photographer, Art Brewer. “Lightroom becoming the complete photography workflow from original capture to a fully published book has single-handedly cut days off of our processing time. I can now produce new portfolios to promote by business in a flash.”

“We’re thrilled to see the response from customers, on both the Blurb and the Adobe side,” said Eileen Gittins, founder and CEO of Blurb. “The Lightroom 4 integration has enabled us to reach a whole new set of professional and enthusiast photographers who are just now discovering Blurb for the first time. The feedback from this discriminating group has been consistent: they are blown away by the quality we offer.”

This integration with Lightroom is the second Blurb bookmaking solution available to Adobe customers.  Blurb also created an Adobe InDesign plug-in in 2011. More information on the partnership and the Lightroom integration can be found by going to: www.blurb.com/lightroom.
