Our engineers worked for fifteen months to deliver this hybrid light, which now enables both photographers and videographers to capture their moments without concerns about flash recycling times.” The new LED Light Cube will be available for £430 excl. tax.

Bowens set to launch pioneering LED Light Cube in the UK

Bowens has been appointed exclusive UK distributor for a groundbreaking hybrid LED lighting product that could revolutionise studio and location shoots for photographers and film-makers.

The new LED Light Cube (£430 excl. tax) is billed as the world’s first high-end, portable and interlocking LED flash and constant light source - and features continuous high speed flash capability at full power.

Australian developers and manufacturers IC12 say the unit’s zero recycling time outperforms any camera or radio trigger in the market today.

The LED Light Cube also boasts adjustable flash speed; all-in-one flash and video lighting functionality; an ultra-high performance interchangeable slot-in battery and interlocking capability.

Nathan Oxley, MD at Melbourne-based IC12 said: “The key Light Cube features are unique in the marketplace right now. We developed this product after documenting photographers’ ongoing and very real frustrations with their hardware limitations. Our engineers worked for fifteen months to deliver this hybrid light, which now enables both photographers and videographers to capture their moments without concerns about flash recycling times.”

He added: “We believe this is a game changer in the industry and will quickly become the photographer and film-maker’s new best friend. LED Light Cube is a catalyst for change in the way manufacturers will produce future lights. Our product is highly portable and provides users with the option of employing single units or building a bigger bank of light. It can ‘freeze time’ at speeds of up to one eight thousandth of a second – that’s equivalent to a single wing flap of a bird. And at the other end of the scale it can slow light speeds down to thirty seconds. The slot-in internal battery features latest lithium ion polymer technology, enabling over 10,000 flashes (full power @1/60th of a second) from a single battery charge.”

Other features of the new LED Light Cube include:

*Use as a video light (up to 45 minutes from a single battery charge.)

*5000 lumens of light output/running time 45 minutes.

*Adjustable flash speed (1/8000th of a sec to 1 sec).

*Easily portable: sold as single cubes or in sets of two or four.

*Stackable.

*Stable daylight colour temperature.

*Master control. Set the lighting condition of a single unit in array mode and all others will match the settings.

*Modelling light feature.

*Noiseless operation (No internal fan required).

Tim Haskell, Bowens International Business Development Manager said: “We are delighted to handle UK distribution of this exclusive and pioneering new lighting product. IC12 spent many months listening to the needs of professional photographers and film-makers and then many more developing what they believe is the solution to their concerns. The aluminium –based LED Light Cube, available in the UK from November, - is competitively priced, robust and feature-rich. And the LED Light Cube Adapter System means a comprehensive range of light shaping tools like Barn Doors and Grids can be used with this new unit, as well as our own Bowens light modifiers and those of other flash manufacturers via optional mount rings. We expect it to be a huge success.”
