broncolor, the Swiss lighting specialist, has developed a new portable battery-operated power pack, the Mobil A2R with 1200 J flash output and higher capacity. The handy unit weighs approximately 9 kg and has sufficient power for around 130 flashes at full output and normal recharging time, or about 170 flashes on slow charging. At minimum power output and without modelling light even 2000 flashes can be released!

The charging time is approximately 2,9 sec at full power output. Without flash release, the unit is automatically switched off after a selectable delay time to prolong the battery life.

The illuminated keyboard on the front panel allows power selection over 7 f-stops in 1/10th f-stop intervals, as well as switching of the power distribution from symmetric to asymmetric 70/30% or 80/20%.

As can be seen from the additional designation „R“ the unit has a built-in radio receiver for flash release up to 300 m. Further features of the new flash power pack are the acoustic ready signal, built-in photocell, integrated infrared receiver etc. The new compact Mobilite 2 lamp or other broncolor lamps may be connected to the two outlets of the unit.

During the development of the power pack, special emphasis was placed on an effective dust protection and a robust construction. Rubber panels provide additional ram protection.

The Mobilite 2 small lamp measures merely 20 cm in length and 8 cm in diameter. Despite this small volume, it is equipped with a plug-in flash tube, a 100W halogen modelling lamp, an UV-coated protecting glass, an integrated reflector, a fan and the necessary electronics. The modelling light is automatically switched off after a preset time to prolong the battery life.

Honeycomb grid, barn doors, Fresnel spot attachment, projection attachment, Picobox and lamp extension cable are all available for the Mobilite 2. A special adapter permits the use of a larger part of the attachment accessories of the Unilite and Pulso lamps.
