Calumet Student Photographer of the Year Award

Calumet Photographic has just launched its new Student Photographer of the Year Award for 2015 in partnership with a host of major photographic brands. Designed to recognise photographic talent of students and to provide them with a platform for their work to be recognised, the award is open and available to any student in the UK. Prospective entrants are invited to submit a single photo of their best work - or three if they are a part of the Calumet Student membership programme - and up to 20 words explaining their chosen image. A panel of four judges, including Calumet’s Managing Director, Jon Warner; Professional Photographer, Rory Lewis; Canon’s Product Intelligence Professional, David Parry; Professional Photographer, Tom Barnes, will view all entries and shortlist 10 runners-up and one overall winner who will win an array of prizes worth over £11,000. The deadline for entries is 13 March 2015 and the winners will be announced shortly after.

CALUMET LAUNCHES STUDENT PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR AWARD
Leading photography retailer, Calumet Photographic, is excited to launch its new Student Photographer of the Year Award for 2015 in partnership with a host of major photographic brands, including Canon, Manfrotto, B + W, Lastolite, Veho, Rotolight, Bowens, ColorMunki, DxO Software and Eizo.
Entry submissions are now open and available to any student in the UK. Designed to recognise photographic talent of students and to provide them with a platform for their work to be recognised, Calumet is further investing in the ‘future of photography’ following its recent launch of its student membership package.
Students are invited to submit a single photo of their best work (or three if they are a part of the Calumet Student membership programme) and up to 20 words explaining their chosen image. A panel of four judges, including Calumet’s Managing Director, Jon Warner; Professional Photographer, Rory Lewis; Canon’s Product Intelligence Professional, David Parry; Professional Photographer, Tom Barnes, will view all entries and shortlist 10 runners up who will each receive a £20 Calumet gift voucher and one overall winner who will win a fantastic array of prizes worth over £11k to start their photographic career.
The overall winner of the Calumet Student Photographer of the Year will be invited to attend the Photography Show at the NEC Birmingham on Tuesday 24 March 2015 where his or her award will be presented on stage. An exhibition of all the shortlisted images will also be on display at the show.
Entry for the awards close on Friday 13 March 2015 and the winners will be announced shortly after.
Jon Warner, Managing Director at Calumet Photographic said: “We are looking for someone that has a creative eye and captures an image that is aesthetically pleasing, high quality and has shown a technically capability. The manner in which this is captured can range from a digital SLR to a smart phone, which makes the Student Awards accessible to everyone.”
