CALUMET WELCOMES THE CANON ROADSHOW 2015

Leading photography retailer, Calumet Photographic, is excited to welcome the Canon Roadshow 2015 to stores across the UK during May and June. Photography enthusiasts are invited to get their hands on the latest Canon products, as well as exclusive offers and expert talks from Canon Explorer Danny Green and renowned photographer David Clapp.

From 10am-11am, and 2pm-3pm, David Clapp will be demonstrating the new Canon EOS 5DS & EOS 5DS R with images to show the capabilities of this remarkable camera and its generous pixel count. He will also be taking a look at new lenses such as the 11-24mm and the 16-35mm F4 IS, which are making big waves in the industry.

David Clapp is one of the UK's top landscape and travel photographers; his skills out in the field, behind the computer and as a lecturer are highly regarded in the photographic industry. Always pushing boundaries, developing techniques and delivering outstanding results, his images speak for themselves. Embracing the world of digital technology with the marriage of computers and cameras, his work focuses on reaching into the unknown, as he seeks out new and exciting places to photograph, in the landscape and beyond.

Then, from 11am-12pm and 3pm-4pm, Danny Green will be giving a talk and hosting a Q&A session. The multi award-winning wildlife photographer has been documenting the natural world for over 25 years and has always been a dedicated Canon shooter. All of his images were taken using a range of the latest Canon products such as the new EOS 7D Mark II and the latest long lenses including the 500mm F4 IS MKII and 300mm F2.8. Working in these conditions is the perfect test for the Canon products and Danny will be willing to answer any technical questions during his talk.

Danny has travelled to some of the most remote regions that the north has to offer, from the Mountains of Scotland to the Boreal forests of Finland; the Arctic Tundra of Iceland to the Polar Ice caps of Svalbard. He has photographed grizzly bears in Alaska and the iconic snow monkeys of Japan. Danny will be showing some of his favourite images from these breathtaking destinations during his talk. Danny had his first National Geographic feature published – on the Atlantic puffin – in June 2014, which was a very proud moment for him. The project spanned over five years and Danny visited some of the most beautiful colonies in the UK, Iceland and Norway, in search of images of the iconic bird. He recalls: "It was one of the hardest projects I have undertaken as the demands and standards are so high when shooting for National Geographic."

Jon Warner, Managing Director at Calumet Photographic UK, said: “We are thrilled to host the Canon Roadshow 2015, and to welcome such excellent photographers to our stores. It is set to be a great series of events and a real must-see for anyone with a passion for photography.”

Manfrotto and Wild Arena will also be in attendance for product demonstrations and expert advice.
