Canon Launches Print Campaign for Digital IXUS
Canon UK Press Release
Canon launches a striking new print campaign to promote the latest additions to its bestselling Digital IXUS range. Featuring images created by renowned fashion photographer Monika Robl , the advertisements for the Digital IXUS 900 Ti and Digital IXUS 850 IS will run in lifestyle magazines, specialist press publications and outdoor media from October through to the end of the year. The print ads will complement Canon’s ongoing campaign to mark the tenth anniversary of the range, which sees the launch of an online competition to win a special edition diamond IXUS.
Robl, whose work has appeared in German and Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Stern, GQ and Marie Claire, was commissioned to produce images centred around “The Original. The IXUS” – a reference to the originality and cult status of IXUS. The stylish compositions were shot over two days in London in early September.
“Monika Robl’s arresting imagery captures the spirit of the IXUS range,” said Canon’s Grégory Kukolj. “Just like IXUS, Monika’s work is both original and iconic.”
IXUS 10 competition
The competition for the diamond IXUS will be open to European consumers through a new IXUS 10 microsite at www.canon-europe.com/IXUS. Featuring an IXUS timeline, designer profiles and a rundown of the 2006 range, the microsite forms part of a pan-European online campaign that will be promoted through regional Canon web properties and advertising on key third party websites.
10 Digital IXUS 900 Ti and 10 Digital IXUS 850 IS cameras will be offered as runner-up prizes in the competition.
