PIXMA Home Office: Canon introduces new 4-in-1 printers PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 21 August 2017 – Canon has today released two new 4-in-1 PIXMA Home Office printers to print, copy, scan and fax for even more productivity and connectivity for users at home. The PIXMA Home Office range is ideal for those working from home giving them the flexibility to match all office requirements and professional needs.

The PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550 boast new key features to aid remote working such as the 20 sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), Auto Duplex Printing, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)[1], large touch screens and enhanced User Interface (UI). The new compact size means users have more space to work without compromising on functionality or quality of their printing.

Working from home made simple

Improved UI allows workers to optimise the capabilities of the new printers’ functions by easily navigating through the controls. PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550 have larger touch screens, 3.0 inch and 4.3 inch screens respectively, the front panel can be tilted to suit the user’s eye line. The large screen size makes operation of the functions even simpler; ideal if the printer is regularly used throughout the working day.

Users can increase productivity with the Auto Duplex Print feature meaning PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550 automatically prints double-sided documents at the touch of a button saving time and paper. The printers also feature two-way paper feeding enabling printing from both the rear[2] and front[3] of the printer meaning different sized paper can be loaded at one time. The paper feeds hold up to 100 sheets of plain paper[4] so with a possible 200-page A4 plain paper capacity, large documents can be printed without having to reload paper.

The Document Removal Reminder feature notifies the user when a scanned document is left on the scanning unit so users will never forget an important document. For easy management of files the 20 sheet ADF feature allows users to scan larger documents in a single operation saving precious time.

Stay connected at home

PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550 feature Wi-Fi connectivity giving users more choice so they can print wirelessly from their smartphone, tablet or laptop. PIXMA Cloud Link is compatible with the range enabling working users to print and scan[5] documents from and to online services such as GoogleDrive, Evernote and Dropbox for increased speed and share-ability. Users can access and store files using PIXMA Cloud Link via the Canon PRINT App or the printer screen, allowing remote work with ease. With the Smartphone Capture and Copy feature accessed via the Canon PRINT App users can take a photo of a hard copy with their smartphone in order to convert to a soft copy direct to their device.

For users wanting more from their printer, PIXMA TR8550 can be connected to an Ethernet cable for the printer to be wired to a whole network meaning users can print and scan from multiple printers at any time. PIXMA TR8550 also has the added benefit of a built-in SD card slot which gives users the flexibility of scanning and printing directly to and from the SD card so there’s no need to connect to any other device.

The new range incorporates brand new feature BLE, enabling pairing for a constant connection between any compatible smart device and printer. Users of Android devices can activate BLE on their printer for easy activation of full Wi-Fi connection enabling them to print documents from connected devices. Once the device and printer are paired using Bluetooth, both iOS and Android users automatically receive error notifications via the Canon PRINT app from the printer and direct the user to the dedicated web manual, enabling quick and easy troubleshooting.

Improved ink cartridge system

The new range holds 5 single ink cartridges[6] and features a Hybrid Ink System creating enhanced colour reproduction for high quality prints and sharp text. With fade resistant inks PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550 offer the benefit of simultaneously using dye and pigment based inks for the best quality.

The printers are compatible with three sized ink cartridges[7] offering users the choice when purchasing their cartridges; whether bulk printing or the odd document. The larger capacity cartridges complement users with the need to print in higher volumes for cost-effective printing and fewer cartridge replacements[8]. The enhanced UI alerts users to low or empty cartridges so they are never caught with empty cartridges.

Creativity for work and play

Turning stories made at home into lab-quality prints, PIXMA TR7550 and PIXMA TR8550 are ideal printers for the home meeting the needs of work and the whole family. The new printers inspire creativity and fun, compatible with the new Message in Print app[9] for embedding invisible messages into photo prints. The user can add animations, music, URL links or text to their printed image for their recipient to decode by holding their iPhone above the print. Canon brings fun to printing with additional applications from My Image Garden to Creative Park and Easy-Photo-Print+ so everyone can make the most of the PIXMA Home Office printer. Users can create greeting cards and calendars as well as gain access to exclusive content.

The new PIXMA Home Office offers high quality printing with enhanced connectivity to make working at home effortless. The compact new design saves space as well as increasing productivity with auto double-sided printing, 20 sheet ADF function and individual ink cartridges. The multi-function 4-in-1 printer range complements the needs of both the home worker and the whole family, making it convenient to turn moments that matter into high quality prints at home.
