Pocketable power for stunning images
From sweeping landscapes, to up-close portraits, the PowerShot G5 X’s 24mm wide-angle, ultra-bright f/1.8 - 2.8, 4.2x zoom lens, with 9-blade aperture, makes it easy to capture stunning shots with beautiful bokeh and background blur. The PowerShot G9 X’s 28mm wide-angle f/2 - 4.9, 3x optical zoom lens allows you to capture sharp, high-detailed images, even when on the move or in challenging light conditions.
Intuitive control, timeless design
Oozing the iconic G-series DNA, the PowerShot G5 X allows you to explore a wider number of photography features and settings, all in a conveniently compact body. For the more advanced photographer, the PowerShot G5 X’s high resolution, centred OLED electronic viewfinder offers DSLR-like handling, maximum comfort when shooting, and is ideal for photographers wanting to keep their eye on the scene. Whether you’re getting up-close shooting architecture on a city break, or capturing sweeping vistas in the countryside, the PowerShot G5 X’s vari-angle flip-out touchscreen makes it easy to take unique shots from a variety of unique angles.
The PowerShot G9 X gives you all the features you need to express your creativity and capture unexpected moments. 25 per cent slimmer than the
PowerShot G7 X, it is even more compact and perfectly suited for photographers who want premium image quality whilst shooting on the move. The camera’s intuitive and large 3.0” high-resolution touchscreen allows for simple creative fingertip control, with easy access to camera settings and functions, in a stylish lightweight body. On both models, the Lens Control Ring can be quickly assigned to control various photographic functions including aperture and shutter speed.

Built-in Electronic Viewfinder
The PowerShot G5 X is equipped with a large (0.39 type) in-built Electronic Viewfinder (EVF). With 100% coverage, the area that appears in the viewfinder is the same angle of view as the photo, which makes it possible to shoot with exactly the intended composition. It uses a high-resolution 2.36 million dots OLED, which reproduces a wide variety of colour gamuts and high contrast – careful adjustments are carried out so that there is minimal discrepancy between colours in the viewfinder and the finished results. Additionally, the ultra-fast refresh rate of 120 fps, allows the EVF to be used when following moving subjects.
The EVF is located perpendicular to the optical axis, which makes it possible to aim the camera naturally, while the 22mm eyepoint means it can easily be used when wearing glasses.
Information – such as shooting mode and other critical exposure settings – can be customised to be displayed at the bottom of the viewfinder, meaning there is less overlap on the live image, making it easier to concentrate on shooting.
