Canon to showcase a new range of professional imaging products at IBC 2010

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland
Canon announces its attendance at IBC 2010, with a larger, redesigned stand and a range of professional imaging products. The Canon stand will provide imaging professionals with the opportunity to see the new XF-series camcorders, EOS Digital SLR cameras, XEED HD projectors and broadcast TV lenses all in one place.

To ensure all IBC visitors can try Canon’s exciting new products with comfort and ease, Canon has invested in a 220m2 stand and additional space in the Production Village area. The stand highlights will include the newly launched XF100 camcorder, the EOS 7D and the XEED HD Theatre. The HD theatre will present showreel footage from Canon products, with projections in both 2D and 3D.

The Production Village will also feature the recently-launched and highly acclaimed XF300 camcorder, the EOS 5D Mark II, and for the first time, Canon will be displaying a 3D shooting rig using two newly-announced XF105 camcorders. The additional space in the Production Village allows imaging professionals to familiarise themselves with different and complementary imaging products side-by-side, in order to find the best solution for their High Definition production.

“Professionals are now using a wider range of technology to shoot everything from television shows and adverts to feature films” commented Kieran Magee, Professional Imaging Marketing Director, Canon Europe. “IBC is a great opportunity for us to meet with representatives from all parts of the industry and demonstrate products tailored to their production requirements.”

Consult the on-Stand Workflow Experts
To demonstrate the ease with which Canon users can produce high-quality video or stills content, two live workflow stations have been incorporated into the stand design. Loaded with editing software from Apple, Avid, Adobe and Grass Valley™ – the four major NLE software vendors – one station will be devoted to Mac workflows and the other to PC workflows.

Hourly presentations will be made in the XEED theatre by the NLE software vendors, demonstrating the seamless transition from importing HD content to finalising the production. After each presentation, the NLE experts will be available at the Canon workflow stations to answer more detailed ‘how-to?’ questions one-to-one.

Canon’s own software solutions will also be available to try first-hand, including the new XF Utility software for video clip management and Digital Photo Professional for advanced image manipulation. A team of Canon digital product experts will also be on hand to provide advice and information at every stage.
