Capture the Essence of Western Lake District

West Cumbria Tourism is calling on all budding photographers to send in their pictures with the launch today of a competition designed to capture the heart of the "other side" of the Lakes. The competition, supported by the Trout Hotel, Cockermouth, and the Kirkstile Inn, Loweswater, is open to residents and visitors to the area and photographs are welcomed from everyone from amateur snappers to professional photographers. "With the arrival of spring and the bluebell and daffodil season in full swing; this is the perfect time to take your camera and capture the heart of the Western Lake District," the organisers say. The closing date for entries is June 30th. The competition is open to all age groups and can be entered by emailing images directly to [email protected]

PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION LAUNCHED
Can you capture the best of the other side of the Lakes?
West Cumbria Tourism is calling on all budding photographers to send in their pictures with the launch today of a competition designed to capture the heart of the other side of the Lakes.
The competition, supported by the Trout Hotel, Cockermouth, and the Kirkstile Inn, Loweswater, is open to residents and visitors to the area and photographs are welcomed from everyone from amateur snappers to professional photographers.
The aim of the competition is to capture the best of the Western Lake District. The competition will celebrate the character of the area, as well as showcasing the dramatic scenery, the stunning coast and the quality of the natural environment. With the arrival of spring and the bluebell and daffodil season in full swing; this is the perfect time to take your camera and capture the heart of the Western Lake District.
The competition is open to all age groups and can be entered by emailing images directly to [email protected]
The closing date for entries is June 30th. The winning photograph will be announced on July 8th with a winning prize of a night’s stay for two in the award winning Trout Hotel and a runner up prize of a delightful meal for two in the Kirkstile Inn.
The best entries will be included on the Western Lake District online gallery (www.western-lakedistrict.co.uk), along with a credit for the photography and the location of the photograph.
With the permission of the photographer, the images will also be used as part of the campaign to promote the ‘Other side of the Lake District’.
