A share of £1,500 worth of Canon photography kit is on offer to the winners of the Computeractive Photographer of the Year 2007 competition. Top prize is the latest Canon EOS 400D digital camera kit. The deadline for entries is 5.00 pm on Friday 11 May, and the contest is open to UK residents.

Computeractive magazine is looking for entries for its annual Digital Photographer of the Year competition. A share of £1,500 worth of Canon photography kit is on offer for the most impressive pictures. The deadline for entries is 5.00 pm on Friday 11 May and the winners will be announced and their photos published in Computeractive issue 242.

Last year’s contest produced over 5,000 outstanding entries, due to the affordability of digital cameras we expect this year to attract even more entries. As the competition enters its third year the judges will be looking for truly unique pictures to stand out from the crowd.

The ubiquity of photo editing software means anyone can create a beautiful and technically accomplished picture, therefore the judges will be looking for creativity. There are no limits on genre or digital enhancement so the only restriction is your imagination. Readers can also vote for their 2007 favourites on the photochallenge website and the Computeractive team will choose a winner and four runner-ups from the shortlist. To enter send one high resolution picture to [email protected] along with your full name, address and brief summary of where you took the photo.

Canon have provided this year’s prizes; top prize is the latest Canon EOS 400D digital camera kit worth £1,000 and there are four Canon PIXMA iP5300 photo lab quality printers worth £129 for each of the four runners up.
