Datacolor at Photokina 2006
Datacolor Press Release
Datacolor today announces it that it is showing its ColorVision Digital Imaging product range at photokina 2006 in Hall 4.1 Stand D11/E19. The ColorVision Digital Imaging product range is a must-have for anyone with a passion for photography and colour control in the digital workflow. Centre-stage at Photokina will be PrintFIX PRO Suite, winner of the TIPA award for ‘Best Colour Management System in Europe 2006.’ Professional designers will be on hand at three stations explaining the colour challenges of shooting, post-production and print. Visitors will be able to follow all the ins and outs of the colour workflow live on screen and see how PrintFIX PRO Suite calibrates systems to one another simply and effectively.
Datacolor will also be using Photokina as a platform to demonstrate its offerings for black and white photography with a preview of the PrintFIX PRO 2.0 software that enables users to produce black/white prints in gallery quality. This new feature is available free of charge to existing users.
For those users who want to delve deeper, Datacolor’s ColorVision unit has brought out a book called ‘Colour Management for Photographers’ (published by Addison-Wesley). Its authors Christoph Künne (DOCMA magazine) and Christoph Gamper (Datacolor) introduce readers to the ICC world of colour, with over 54 pages covering relevant processes including how to colour calibrate cameras, scanners, monitors and printers. One chapter is also devoted to paper, as Datacolor’s ColorVision unit has joined forces with MOAB to produce a range of fine art paper.
The trade show presentation will be rounded off by the ‘Friends of Color’ (FOC) bar. Here enthusiasts will be able to meet up and exchange ideas with fellow amateurs and professionals and get information about the latest photography courses available from the Tuscany Photographic Workshop – the centre for photography in Europe, www.tpw.it
). ‘Friends of Color’(www.colorvision.ch/de/foc) is a network of creative people with a passion for photography. Its members include artists like Andreas Bitesnich and Sarah Silver.
