Datacolor Press Release
Datacolor Brings Consumers “Digital Darkroom In a Box” For Complete Color Accuracy On Monitors and In Print At CES 2006 - ColorVision Spyder2 Plus Showcased at LVCC, Booth25754, South Hall No. 2
LAS VEGAS, NV– The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) – January 3, 2006 – Datacolor, an internationally known name in color technology, showcases ColorVision® Spyder2Plus™ at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth 25754, South Hall No. 2 (Ground Level), January 5 – 8, 2006.
ColorVision Spyder2 Plus (The Digital Darkroom in a Box™) is the latest color calibration innovation from the world color technology leader. It provides a full suite of tools for anyone working with digital
images and is frustrated by color discrepancy between the monitor image and final printout.
“As digital cameras and imaging technology is embraced in record numbers, more and more people are realizing that their ‘digital light box’ (their computer monitor) isn’t reproducing color accurately,”
states Brian Lever, Datacolor’s Vice President for the ColorVision business unit. “Spyder2 Plus answers the market demand for more accurate and affordable color on monitors and in print.”
CES attendees can get a first-hand look at the award-winning package, which includes:
• The latest ColorVision Spyder2™ calibrator, a highly accurate, sleek color sensor that delivers precise color correction for CRT, LCD and laptop displays. Comes with Spyder2 color monitor calibration
software that can be used on multiple monitors.
• ColorVision ProfilerPLUS™, an industry standard printer utility that employs an existing scanner to profile the printer and help improve inkjet and color laser prints. Because it’s a plug-in, it operates within Adobe’s Photoshop Elements or other color management-compatible software and is especially useful for users or plan-to-be users of third-party papers or ink-sets.
• Adobe ® Photoshop® Elements software, an all-inone solution for digital photography. Keeps track of photos from multiple devices–cameras, hard disks, CD’s, DVD’s, and scanners. This Adobe software program comes with tools even a beginner can use:
for example, to retouch blemishes, eliminate red eye, or manage and share a photo library. For the advanced user it includes Quick Fix–the Spot Healing brush, Camera Raw, 16-bit color support and many other features from the more advanced CS program.
• FREE Technical support, FREE software updates and a two-year warrantee is a company policy with all Spyder2 products.
“Digital imaging is going mainstream, and color display and output increasingly determine customer satisfaction. Our products exist to make sure that color stays true as it moves across various media channels. Spyder2 Plus puts the color on your monitor and from your printer in sync. And that’s going to make you look a lot more professional when it comes to producing digital images and designing desktop environments,” Levey says.
