Digital Splash Returns to Preston

Digital Splash - a photography show hosted by Wilkinson Cameras – opens its doors at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston once again on Sunday, 11th October. The event itself is free to attend and there’s even plenty of free parking – doors open at 10am. Attendees will be able to listen to several presentations delivered by acclaimed photographers Jonathan Chritchley, Damien Lovegrove, Kerry Hendry, Adam Duckworth and Paul Rogers. Paul’s masterclass will include practical lighting demonstrations, highlighting his unique approach to this genre. This is a hands on workshop with the chance to shoot your own images – so guests are encouraged to bring along their cameras. Tickets for the seminars are £6, and £20 for the live phootshoots with Paul Rogers.

The Fastest Growing Photography Show in the North is back!
Digital Splash - hosted by award winning independent retailer Wilkinson Cameras – opens it’s doors in Preston once again this year for an even bigger and better gathering of the photography world!
Digital Splash is taking place on Sunday 11th October at the University of Central Lancashire. The event is completely FREE to attend and there’s even plenty of free parking – doors open at 10am.
Headlining this year’s show is Jonathan Chritchley - one of the foremost ocean photographers in the world today. His instantly recognisable, minimalist square format monochrome work is exhibited around the world.
Recently included in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Photographers of All Time, and in Professional Photography Magazine Top 100 Photography Heroes, Jonathan’s work is used to promote international brands such as Ralph Lauren, as well as to decorate rooms and lobbies of luxury hotels and cruise liners worldwide.
Jonathan will be presenting two different talks:
AM: Forging Silver - From the first influences to the first book – how it all began for ocean photographer Jonathan Chritchley.
PM: Every Cloud... Following on from 'Forging Silver', 'Every Cloud...' focuses first on his work in 2014, when he visited 4 continents in 6 months and worked with 3 of his photographic heroes, and goes to on to reveal some exciting future projects.
Also on the main stage, professional portrait photographer and hugely successful wedding photographer, Damien Lovegrove - who learned his skills as a cameraman and lighting director during 14 years at the BBC.
Since then Damien has become one of the foremost trainers of photography and entrepreneurial business strategies in our industry.
Damien will be presenting two different talks:
12.15pm: Prime Time - Using 50 of his pictures to illustrate the strategies and formulas that he uses, Damien will discuss how and why we use prime lenses to create magical portraits. He will discuss the Fuji EF 14mm, 23mm, 35mm and 56mm lenses and how they all play equally important roles in his photography.
3.30pm: Mirrorless Adventures - From route 66 to the mountains of Cambodia. Damien's journey with the Fuji X system. An inspirational talk on travel photography & portraiture across many continents.
Also giving talks at the show Fujifilm X-Photographer Kerry Hendry, with ‘Horses for Courses’ – a practical talk about how to choose the right gear for you – looking at lifestyle, travel and Kerry’s signature equine photography - using mirrorless and DSLR systems.
Sports photographer Adam Duckworth will be giving two talks called ‘Action Stations!’ – looking at he editorial side of action photography as well as revealing lots of the tips and techniques used to get stunning images of moving subjects.
And returning Digital Splash favourite, Paul Rogers of Pellier Noir Photography will be taking a look at the popular subject of Social Event Photography. Paul’s masterclass will include practical lighting demonstrations, highlighting his unique approach to this genre. This is a hands on workshop with the chance to shoot your own images – so guests are encouraged to bring along their cameras!
Tickets for the seminars are just £6, and £20 for the live phootshoots with Paul Rogers. For the first time at the show, Canon & Panasonic will be giving live demonstrations of their latest video technologies, including: Panasonic 4K & 4K Photo, plus the highly anticipated new Canon Cinema EOS cameras, C100 MKII & C300 MKII.
