Dominion Riverrock Announces Digital Photo Contest

Dominion Riverrock has announced that registration is open for this year’s Digital Photo Contest. The second annual Dominon Riverrock sports and river life festival will be held from 14-15 May in Richmond, Virginia, and photographers are encouraged to capture the activities, competitions and venues taking place there. Entrants must submit their five best images as jpeg files via email by midnight Sunday, 16 May.A panel of judges will be looking for the overall images that capture the spirit of Dominion Riverrock. Cash prizes beginning at $500 will be awarded to first, second and third place contestants. The winning photos will also be featured in SBQ Magazine and displayed on the Dominion Riverrock website. There is a registration fee - $10 for online registrations made until 12 May, and $15 for on-site registrations made until 6pm on Saturday, 15 May.

DOMINION RIVERROCK ANNOUNCES DIGITAL PHOTO CONTEST
CASH PRIZES AND ACCOLADES UP FOR GRABS
Richmond, VA (April 8, 2010) – Dominion Riverrock (www.dominionriverrock.com), the outdoor adventure sports and river life festival, announced today registration is open for this year’s Digital Photo Contest at the 2nd annual fest held May 14 – 15 in Richmond, Virginia.
All photographers, from beginner to pro, can participate in the contest as long as they use a digital format. They may photograph any Dominion Riverrock personality, competition, activity or venue they choose. Photographers must submit their five best images as jpeg files via email to [email protected] by midnight Sunday, May 16. Results will be announced Wednesday, May 19 on sportsbackers.org.

REGISTRATION: Participants can register online for $10 at www.dominionriverrock.com until 11:59pm on May 12. On-site registration costs $15 will be open on Brown’s Island until 6pm on Saturday, May 15.
ONSITE CHECK-IN: All photographers must check in with contest officials on Brown’s Island on Friday, May 14 from 4pm – 6pm or Saturday, May 15 from 1pm – 6pm.
Dominion Riverrock is a two-day event celebrating Richmond’s vibrant and active river life. The fest will boast a unique mix of sports, music and fun, set against the backdrop of Richmond’s downtown riverfront. The sports competitions this year include running, mountain biking, kayaking, freestyle biking and Ultimate Air Dogs contests. There will also be musical performances from high profile artists such as Robert Randolph & the Family Band and Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, along with food vendors and exhibits.
